The new McGinn statue has been commissioned. To be placed next to William McGregor. Seems fitting.

"Every team needs a player of John McGinn’s character. Captain, leader, made from girders. Gives everything, covers, presses, creates, scores. And clearly loves what he does." https://x.com/henrywinter/status/2052492921824305197

I think what a lot of people seem to underrate is his footballing ability.  He's a very very good player as well as all the other amazing qualities he has.

He is. He doesn't have a natural athlete's body shape but he puts the work in and his attitude is always first class.

In honour of the great man, I’ve decided to name my first born John.

She’s 15 next month so might take some persuading, but it’s my house, my rules.

Ginny is a nice name for girls, which might prove more acceptable.

Yep. Honestly he reminds me of myself. I'm a McGinn sort of person.

If McGinn was English Sky and the rest of the media would have been aggressively trying to sell him to their favoured clubs for years

I saw a list the other day of The Best Premier League Players 2025/26, maybe 12-15 names but no SJM. They then went on to top of the list, Bruno Fernandes and how it's impossible he doesn't win Player of the Season. I couldn't help but think he'd be lucky to get in our side and this was before last night.

Let's have it right, Bruno Fernandes is a fucking brilliant player and would get in almost any team (not Blues, too old for the algohype agentic).

Anyone remember the Che Guevara wearing a James Milner T-shirt that someone pulled together years ago. An SJM version must be long overdue!

I see Fernandes has been named player of the season today... for what ?  The dozen or so games Carrick has been manager 🙄
