As an aside, when he doesn't play in a match and with Mings and Young missing this season, who will be Captain?

I'm guessing Konsa, Martinez or Luiz, although I don't GK captains these days due to them having to speak to the ref, it would mean him having to sprint the length of the pitch.

SSN reporting this morning that’s he’s training on his own today due to niggle picked up on international duty. Fingers crossed ok for weekend.
that don't sound good

My theory is that training alone yesterday merely meant he was recovering and Emery didn't want him picking up any knocks in combative training.
Precautionary measures.
And now hearing he's back in the mix for things.

Martinez is the vice captain, as far as the understanding goes.
If we are leading, Martinez isn't sprinting to speak to the ref that's for sure!

Reminds me of all the Robbie Williams chatter and song I did on Martinez actually saying this.

Unlucky to get a yellow card from the ref for asking why him being kicked in the heel by Hjoberg wasn't a foul but it was when Cash did it 20 seconds later.

Thought he was our best player yesterday, leading by example again.

A gnats bollock between him, Doug and Pau for me and Martinez was excellent as well.

Martinez demonstrated yesterday what a world-class goalkeeper can do.  Almost any other goalie in the league and we lose that game yesterday. Two absolutely brilliant and one world-class save, each of which would likely have been a goal with another keeper.  I think the three points were thanks to him.

Re: McGinn's trademark style: I thought this might be recorded for er... 'posterity':

"John McGinn, meanwhile, is perhaps the world's leading arse-dribbler. John McGinn's arse bobs. John McGinn's arse wiggles. John McGinn's arse swivels. And then in a flash John McGinn's arse is gone, never to be seen again."

I am amazed how he comes out of "scrums" with the ball. Even better than Gareth B.
