It's being suggested that this is a restructuring because the Comcast/Aitairos bloke has gone back to Comcast/Aitairos after their restructuring.
I do not get rich people shit at all.

A mad thought flashed into my head recently. I know that's nothing new but, here goes...

Given that clubs are using concerts and other events to generate income and this goes towards SCR/PSR calculations, I just wonder whether our owners are on the lookout for larger events venues that might be available to buy. Not saying there are venues available, just wondered if they'd put the feelers out.

I know the club have developed The Warehouse but, as great a beer hall pre-games as it is, at 3,500 seats it's a bit modest when you compare it to the new area at, for instance, Citeh. Perhaps the 'dream' scenario is the NIA/Utilita becoming available. There's nothing to say an entertainments venue has to be on site in Aston.

Newcastle Arena 9 in Saudi bringing Newcastle's revenue up to 4 billion.

I think you will find that creating revenue from non connected activities would not be allowable.

Perhaps that's true, although I've not seen the rules (I'm assuming at this point you're referring to my post) but then why is income generated by Bad Bunny and Shakira concerts allowed simply because they're at Tottenham's stadium, for instance?

I mean this is what someone who took the trouble to do some research (ie. not me - Paulie) posted after looking up what is allowable:

I looked at UEFA - "Any other operating income from non-footballing activities".

There is no logical reason and the authorities are playing wackamole because ultimately the people being hired by the clever Investors/Owners are smarter than them.

The warehouse isn’t’ physically connected to he stadium; is this a potential issue?

Man City have invested a fortune in Coop Live so I guess not.

I think the issue with the Warehouse is we’ve sold it. So it helped us cheat PSR but we’re not allowed to book the revenue.

But we also sold Villa Park and still benefit from the revenue. It doesn’t matter who owns it, it’s about the commercial agreement around our use of it.

It would be pretty easy for the owner entity to lease the Warehouse back to us for events in return for a fee or percentage of the revenue. It’s no different to our renting the shop space in the Bullring.

Yes, that sounds sensible, but I was talked out of that point of view the other day by someone I considered more clever than me. But I’m like the Fast Show character who agrees with the last person he spoke to when it comes to this stuff.

I would imagine it’s sale and leaseback so we can book revenue we just pay the owners rent eg ourselves.

It would be extremely frustrating to develop facilities like The Warehouse only to then not be able to benefit from the takings because we'd sold it out of necesity.

I think I'm trying to brainstorm purely because I'm tired of the constant battles our club has with the financial rules and the recognition that we need to build income. Expanding Villa Park will of course help somewhat.
