I'm digging in for a fromagerie. Dealbreaker. I will die on this hill.
Shoulder to shoulder with you there SE.

Definitely no Stilton, Gorgonzola etc

The only banned cheese is to be edam.

I also think we should get a load of those video cases that look like hardback book covers. Make the place look classy.

Oh man, we had them. And the telly in the kind of cabinet you'd expect an Edwardian magician to use on stage.

Ha! We had a TV cabinet. I'm pretty sure it had glass doors. Bizarre thing, bizarre thinking. Still, preferable to those sixty-inch things everyone has on their walls nowadays though.

So did we. It had a sort of wooden roller cover on it. I remember my grandad in Mere Green had some sort of music centre in what appeared to be a massive fuck off sideboard. You opened the lid and the record player popped up. I thought it was the best thing ever.

Oh my Dad had one of those, a big massive fuck off Bang and Olufsen sideboard that seemed to take up half the dining room. It was most bizarre. He replaced it with Hi Fi separates which then went in a TV style cabinet that looked like a chest of drawers. That generation seemed to be  genuinely embarrassed to have electrical items unless they were hidden away.

Ha! Thats brought back some memories.
I remember my uncle having a music centre that did a similar thing.
The cabinet it came in was unbelievably shiny and was in an immaculate condition.
I still remember the way he looked after his vinyl collection. Handled with the precision of a surgeon and if anything acquired the slightest scratch,  he'd pass it onto my brother and replace it.

I know I am a massive snob, but there are three things you see in houses which i think are truly terrible.

Vertical office style blinds - the worst. TV screens mounted in the corner of walls. Wall mounted flat screen televisions (especially people who then don't understand the importance of sound bars when going to all that effort with their telly in the first place).

re the location discussion.

I hadn't realised the gas container site was that close to the city centre. However, I can't help but think the Royal Mail site mentioned would be perfect. A mile from Snow Hill, a nice rectangular site, right on a main road.

There’s room behind the new library. Those high rise flats are and eyesore anyway.

Site isn't big enough but I assume you're being ironic anyway.

Yep, canals too close. But would have been a good area. Some areas of the JQ could work as well but topography would make it more difficult.

I wasn’t. I’d love a stadium in the city centre.

I meant ironic about that location in particular.
