The wife just made me watch the bbc morning show which she records, I know I don’t get it either. Anyway, Richard Osman was on it this morning plugging another new game show. I like Richard Osman, I think everyone does. He’s also a big Fulham fan and going Saturday. “Two good sides” he said and followed it with “we’ll (Fulham) probably lose to a last minute goal”. That’ll do for me.

I’m pretty sure our manager didn’t call you team old and slow, I haven’t seen the press conference,  but he’s Serbian and his English sometimes comes over poorly, I’m pretty sure the last thing he wants to do is wind up the villa team. As to the tickets I’ve looked on a few websites they does seem to more tickets in Fulham end, but not that many at the most they probably be about 1000 villa fans in Fulham end. My point is that would you really like to pay 2 or 3 times over the top to be surrounded by Fulham fans, or watch in the comfort of a local pub.  Anyway have a good day tomorrow whenever your watching it but not to good!!!

It’s hard to dislike Fulham. Good fans, good old fashioned ground, great setting and always a good day out. I’m old enough to remember their last visit to Wembley and wanting them to beat West Ham having knocked Blues out of the semi final in injury time .. Mitchell with the winner wasn’t it.

They deserve to go up but you don’t always get what you deserve and this will be the case Saturday.

Grinds my gears this does.

If old=good then they've got 1/4 of a good ground.   Whilst the main stand might be old, the facade is frankly crap.  And the cottage - it's quaint but what the hell is it doing in a football ground.  And as for the three meccano monstrosities - I get they're a small club who's rightful place is probably in the bottom half of the Football League, but surely they've spent enough time in the top two flights to warrant replacing their temporary stands with something more permanent?!

I love Craven Cottage, nice walk to the ground, compact stadium and nothing like the identikit stadiums you see everywhere.

The Cottage was built because Leitch forgot to include changing rooms when they were building the stands. Give me a ground like the Cottage with an original 1905 Leitch stand over the Reebok etc every day of the week.

I fully agree with Chris and PWS. A good old ground with character - and an Archie Leitch stand.

My first ever Villa away game in the old 3rd Division was at Craven Cottage, we won 2-0. Thanks for taking me Dad!

I was there (about November 1970). My first away game with my mates on the special from New Street aged 14. Remember Chelsea supporters being there and attacking Villa fans when we scored but getting the worst of it. They were wearing Crombie coats and carrying brollies whereas Villa were all scruffs.

Walk across the park to an Archibald Leitch stand (we used to be able to do that!). I think Craven Cottage has a lot of unique points and it's far from being a standard ground. I like the fact that you can watch rowers on the Thames during any boring bits of the game, the 'neutral zone' always makes me smile because it is anything but whenever I've been. Once I got used to it, I even quite like the way the away stand sort of bounces when things get exciting. it also marks a personal milestone in the gentrification of football supporting for me when my mate disappeared to get us both a pie and came back with Paninis! I realised that resistance was futile at that point  ;)
