It was really the first time I had met one of our players and been able to speak to them at length in order to get a sense of the sort of person they were. So I was especially saddened to hear the news. He was the same age as me so we had that in common too.

Isn't it just. Glad he's done it as well because I had the opinion that JLloyd at his peak was a bit Lescottesque. How wrong I was.

He just lost drive after he got that new contract in 2004. A shame as he was excellent in 03/04 down the left with Barry as Saunders said earlier.

Maybe stuff like showing off his house on that MTV show rubbed people up the wrong way with declining performances on the pitch but shows good natured people can lose their focus with money involved.
