I'm slightly worried that Grealish will be deliberately put out of commission early on.

Where is the "Match abandoned due to alien invasion" option? You haven't covered all possibilities at all!
Or match abandoned due to pyro  ;)

Only we could have a match abandoned because of an incident involving a fictional Belgian detective.

1-0 again to Villa.

They tried that yesterday, he's turned into a tough cookie now. Super Jack.

Professional again, don't take anything for granted here.  It's not a good idea to go into the game thinking we've only got to draw.  Go for their throats from the start.  I'm too chicken to predict this, like I said before the game on Saturday; do not make a return to Fuck Sake Villa!

Ads, I disagree, keep Jedinak in the side.  He's good for us in both boxes.

Some stats for the record :

Aston Villa 23 matches at home in 9 of those we have   6 times  scored goals in first 15 mins and 5 times we've conceded goals within 15 minutes.

That's the 2nd joint highest at home for goals scored or conceded in 15 mins.

Boro 23 matches away have in 9 times conceded 6 goals within 15 mins and scored 5 times.

In 70 % home matches villa score first.16 in 23 matches.
Boro scored first 8 times in 23 away matches 35%

13/23 home matches for villa both teams have scored

15/23 away matches boro both teams have scored.
Joint highest in both teams scoring along with play off hopefuls Fulham and relegated Barnsley

Away from home boro concede far more goals in first half.
They have only scored 11 times in first half matches away from home.

Boro score more frequently second half average a goal a game away in this 2nd period.

Only 4 times in 23 have boro away not scored a goal.

Villa average goal a game at home after 45 minutes. And Concede more 1st half.

In 17 out of 23 matches boro aren't winning their away games.
And only in 3 matches out of 23 are at 0-0 at half time.

Villa have only 6 matches in 23 being 0-0. At half time

Villa scored most headers in league 18.

Boro have scored 11 goals by set piece away from home. Most in league

So predictions based on this.

villa score first

A goal or goals  scored in first 15 mins

Unlikely to be 0-0 score line at half time so 1+goal before half time

A high chance villa leading or drawing at half time.

Boro will score a goal second half expected goal average

Villa will score second half expected goals average

Both teams will score in match

Villa will score a headed goal. Most in league this season

boro score set piece situation

91% home matches have not been lost. 61% win 30%draw. = Villa going through

villa win both teams score

Half time 1-0 1-1 2-0

Full Time
2-1
3-1
3 - 2

However I could see a I take a 2-2 with boro coming on strong second half but too little to late for them. Similar to their fight back against Ipswich.

I'd like a 4-1 or 4-2 set us up for final. The crowd could get us going.
That said the magnitude of the match I think there'll be goals and villa will win to take a 3-1 or 3-2

Sensible choice is 2-1 a popular result at home for us this season however adding in extra goals due to the all or nothing potential for the opposition.

Utv.

I'm confident of us going to final as have a strong record of not conceding in last 15 minutes. By that point leading the tie and having scored a goal or 2 I don't have it that boro can upset us by more than a consolation /fake hope.

We re undefeated in 14 of the 15 matches at home.

Let's hope  a goal laden 1st half then so we are always leading the tie further and  will see us enjoying the night!!

I think this is a long way from over. Got a nagging doubt they’ll score first. But could see us equalise to go through

Bjarnason full back

Whelan for Jedinak

Onomah for hourihane

Green on the bench

Play like we did vs Wolves and we’ll walk it. Just have to go for it and not play for the draw.

I think Jedinak will play if he is in good enough shape to simply because of his aerial presence and their threat of set pieces.  Wouldn't be surprised to see Whelan start ahead of him in the final should we get there though as he offers a bit more on the ball.

The full-back one is tough one as their wingers are their biggest threat.
