Doesn't seem to have been involved in any match-fixing himself.

"Zhao Xintong accepted the following:
That he on 3rd March and 11th March 2022 he was a party to another player fixing two snooker matches.
That between 1st September 2019 and 31st December 2022 he bet on snooker matches in breach of the rules."

It's not great, but he's been banned correctly and has now served his time.

What was Higgins specifically done for, again?

It's been so swept under the carpet I don't even remember.

'Higgins was cleared of the most serious charges – of agreeing to accept a bribe and agreeing to engage in corrupt or fraudulent conduct – but found guilty of failing to report the illegal approach and intentionally giving the impression he was prepared to act in breach of betting rules.'

His former business partner Pat Mooney is banned for life so seems he took the majority of the fall.

The video of them agreeing to it has always felt very damning to me.

Cheers edgy.

It's difficult because I was brought up in a law-abiding family but was always taught that everybody hates a grass. I then went to an all-male secondary school where grassing could get you beaten or worse.

The number of times that approach has failed me at work and I've taken shit for somebody else (who is then willing to ignore that and throw me under the bus) is ridiculous, but I still kind of believe in it.

There's a difference between being a snitch over something small and keeping quiet about agreeing a 300k bribe with your entire career and reputation on the line. IMO at least.
