Great thread title. 0-2 to the better team in 1981.

I would have extended the thread title to '1981 title winners and 1982 European cup winners v 1981 and 1982 title runners up.' I wonder what their excuse was for blowing the title again in '81-'82 as they don't seem to whine on like that one as much as the year before.

We should be able to beat a team with nothing to play for and with a temporary manager in charge. Especially a temporary manager who sounds like a spellchecker error of somebody trying to spell Brian Clough.

I met an Ipswich fan at work yesterday - which was enough for me to like him, surrounded as I am by boring Gooners forever droning on about their team's shortcomings as they wait for Wenger to die.

They're not going to have to wait that long eamonn by the looks of it.

Blimey, you had me feeling guilty then til I checked the news. Hard to believe he's stepped down of his own accord after all this time.

Well, I'm going to the game now, so put us down for a 3-0 loss.

Probably the only game where I wouldn't cringe if our fans sang 'Have you won the European Cup?'.

Kodjia is out tomorrow apparently.  Terry could be back.  I still think we'll have enough to win.  2-0 Grabban and Onomah.

Agh, that would be a blow.  Had he been fit, I would have rested Snodgrass completely and gone with a front three of Grabban, Davis and Kodjia, with Albert and Hogan on the bench.  I know Davis hasnm't featured much recently, but he is the only real target man we have got after Grabban, who has looked better in wide positions over the past few weeks.  Would keep the midfield the same as the Leeds game and would be tempted to keep the back four the same as well, with Terry coming off the bench in the closing stages.

Would be nice to end with three wins now as you never know what might happen, but it would mean we would be going into the play offs on a high.

We will forever owe these bumpkins one for Mick Mills’ weasely behaviour after that famous game at VP. Away win.

If you ever hear John Wark, he's still bitter about it stating that Villa never won it but they lost it!!

Didn’t we win more games that season than any team in any of the divisions?
