Good comment on sky

Too much reliance on individual players and not enough of a plan.

Was that from last season or this one?

Bruce has said if he had known the conditions he might have picked another starting line up ..what like starting with 4 strikers?

Known the conditions? It's been like this all day in the Midlands (on and off snow showers) so imagine much the same in the North west. Couldn't he had gone out when we arrived at the ground and had a look at the pitch?

This to me is a weakness of SB, he isn't a huge attention to detail manager. If our individuals players aren't firing, we don't have other ways of winning the game.

Look at Hulls results leading into the play offs.  Very up and down.

We have a chance in the playoffs, we have good players. It's just a failure that we have to be contemplating it.

Very disappointing result. Performance was nt up to it although unlucky not to have scored with some chances. Really not much in match at all. In truth though a below par performance.

Frustratingly the substitutes weren't effective and players playing all over the place.  Today Bruce  idea of attacking football seems to be playing 4 strikers on the pitch.

Again it was too slow a tempo and somewhat  tepid efforts in attacking. Conditions or not the killer instinct in attacking sense seemed lost.
The other thing is that too much play around and ponderous stuff, a real struggle to break down teams or a real age too. Despite conditions villa did little for any free flowing attacks and wasn't a game, or opposition,  of quality to see teams attacking and leaving spaces.

What I would have liked to see energy, pace and pressing and good movements.
Elmo seemed guilty of not getting up the pitch to the by line (rarely does) and I thought Albert wasn't at best.

Its been noted that Bruce has to be ruthless and keep shape and make appropriate subs not what he has done in last 2 matches by making changes which allow qpr and Bolton to control the match .

Bruce certainly not as proves  nothing positive occurred with changes to day. The irony of course was it all too predictable despite the subs and players formation positions becoming unpredictable.

Grabban, Terry, Snodgrass,  Grealish lesser Chester, Bree were okay in efforts however would have like to see more of influence in match.

Can't say their wasn't effort but it was lacking in quality of movement and moving without the ball. The tempo and energy around the pitch would have seen match won. But wasn't our day.

After a fairly high octane performance last Saturday today, and it seems Tuesday, we were very low tempo and low intensity again.   We looked laboured and tired.  It's Bruce's job to get them up for these games but in terms of current form we're well off the pace, lost 3 out of the last 6.  Just when we need to build some momentum.  Is it right Bruce has never got a team promoted automatically?  If so at least we have a play-off specialist.  Assuming we don't fuck even that up.  It's always been on the cards because we've never really had an effective consistent style or blueprint for winning games consistently, we muddle through for a few games and then don't for a few games.  Best we can hope for is a nice day out at Wembley.  So unneccessary.

The snow only kicked off about 5. Fecking bailed it down walking into that tin pot slag heap.

It's not going to get any easier. Going to Hull, Ipswich, Norwich, Millwall are all tough. Home to Derby and kicker Cardiff also tough. We need to guarantee a play off spot.  I have so little faith in Bruce, just as we seem to be doing well, we think we've cracked it and fall apart.
all of a sudden a guaranteed play off spot doesn't looked nailed on does it ? - whilst Wolves was commendable let's reflect on the performances against Fulham,Preston QPR and Bolton - doesn't inspire confidence does it ?

Reflect on Wolves, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday..

It's easy being miserable and seeing the worst. But look at our form over the past dozen games, 27 points is it?

International break has come at a perfect time really.  Except that the likes of Chester have to go to China ludicrously.

It's been snowing around the country since at least midday, you'd think someone on the coaching staff would be bright enough to check the forecast for during the game. Especially if knowing it was going to snow would have meant a different line-up. Which I don't overly believe.

Until he went full Lambert I didn't think we were that bad today. For long stretches we were the better team and we probably deserved a point, not that that would have been good enough in the context of the promotion race.

kippvxilla2 must be a players ambition to play for your country so with the likes of taylor and chester will be a great experience for them to play in the china cup . might do em good to get away from the club scene

by the way surprised at the result today thought you would beat bolton but that's the championship for you . snowing in derby tonight so i guess our game will be in doubt tomorrow . if we do play i,m sure it will suit our style of route 1 football anyway
