199 all out 7/54 for Patel
218 to win.
Bizarre dismissal for Sidebottom slams ball to square but hits Will Smith on helmet and bounces off helmet to be C&B Patel.
40 overs left i believe ...Tea being taken.

cricinfo is saying 41 overs but either way they're looking at 5+ an over to win it, which is pretty unlikely on a day 4 pitch so this looks like a draw but we can go quite aggressive and try to get some cheap wickets early on.

Table as it stands awaiting our result. Guaranteed 6 points with our bonus points plus another 5 if we draw or another 16 if we pull this off. Or nowt if we lose.

Think i'd have had Olly Stone on by now. Greater threat than what Sidebottom offers.Perhaps he prefers not to bowl with brand new ball.

Steel gone for 21 Wright with the wicket.

Still 31 overs to go, another 1-2 in the next few overs and it gets really interesting.

Why are we restricted to 41 overs? Why can't we play on to make up for the overs we've lost?

The rules say that a game must have a cut off point, they can’t play on until a result is confirmed. That said Cricket does have a habit of shooting itself in the foot when overs are lost. Unfortunately I don’t think the light will be good enough to enable the full 41 overs to be bowled anyway.

A ludicrous rule. The cutoff point should be when the overs are bowled, within reason. If you can play on until seven on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday you should be able to do the same on a Saturday. Seems like another rule designed to boost the sunny Southern counties. And talking of which, any news on whether Kent are going to get a points deduction?
