I have been trying to troll them with various photos on Facebook (with the help of Jon Crofts) but not one has bitten. They know they are getting a spanking.

I don't have to contend with many in Stourbridge but every Olbiyun fucker on the planet knew more about the Villa and their stats than I could ever wish to when we got relegated.

The fact the gobshite nose in residence at work has hunkered down and not said a word to me all week (about anything, not just football) speaks volumes.

My only defence of him is that at least he doesn't do all the daft bravado about sitting in our end. He wouldn't entertain entering the ground. Not since we watched a reserve game together and nearly came to blows within 5 minutes of the game starting.

You would have to be fucking mad to sit with the opposition fans for a derby. Not for fear of a pasting, but how can you get any possible enjoyment out of it?

If you lose you put up with them saying/singing shit about your team that drives you mad with rage. If you win, you can't celebrate it.

If we do belt them on Sunday I shall retain my usual dignified silence and just offer grins when they cross my path. It eats the fuckers up inside.

This match is taking place on my 40th birthday so not only do I face the prospect on the death of all my faith the possibility of a beautiful future and having to face my mortality square in the face, it's also my 40th birthday etc etc. Try the salmon.

Thanks mate. The salmon's pretty average anyway.

My hair's in the same place. Well, actually it isn't, and that's the problem. Strong growth in the forehead area though, which I understand the ladies are mad into.

I had no illusions about my life beginning, it's been grinding on for 39 years and 363 days so far - no change expected!

My 40th birthday was the day we led 2-0 at Leicester before losing 3-2, two seasons ago!

I have a terrible feeling that we're going to have had similar 40ths

I'm 38 and have hair growing out my ear for the first time, for some unfathomable reason.

Christ knows what will be going on by the time I hit 40.

Just hoping that Blues aren’t allowed to kick Grealish out of the game.

I think we sometimes worry that Blues still have Savage and that class of 2002-05 sometimes.i don't think they are anywhere near as physical or committed as that team _ and i sure think in the current Villa team we have lots of players to match them in that aspect. If we play to anywhere near our best I think we will be fine. I don't think we'll get beat, a point at the very least.

I am very calm and confident about the game. I don't think they have many experienced big game players do they? Jenkinson, Robinson, Gardner, and both keepers are about it. Che Adams is their main goal threat but his professinal goalscoring record is just under a goal every five games.

I've just seen a picture of their coach Paul Williams. Wasn't he once the Premier leagues fastest player when he was at Coventry in the early PL/SKY era? These days it looks like the only races he wins is to the carvery or buffet.

Wasn't that bloke called John? Used to be a postman.

I can remember my bluenose best mate at school desperately clinging to the fact Simon Sturridge was the fastest player in the league (according to some tests done at the time) and that meant he was better than Tony Daley.

Chortle.

I think you are right. John Williams was the ex postman and Coventry attacking player. Paul Williams was a defender who also played for Coventry but a couple of years after John. 'After John' reminds me of the Young Ones 'Bambi' episode.
