Terry makes it, Jedinak doesn't. So we go with Whelan who on his own isn't the worst. He's just careless error waiting to happen.

Will miss Jedi. Hopefully Glenn has a good one. Can't complain at the rest of the team.

I'm happy. I think that's close to our best starting 11 with current absentees due to injuries.

If I were a betting man, which I am, I'd lump on villa. But there's no value there.

Go Villa!

Let's hope we approach the game in the same manner as Bristol City. Lots of movement, neat passing and effective crossing. Just don't bomb it long to Hogan because it will be an utter waste of time.

Unfortunate that Jedi isn't available. Pray to God Whelan has one of his better games

It all depends how Bruce uses Whelan. If he instructs him as usual to be running around like a teenager up and down the pitch, we're in trouble. If he demands Whelan sits tight and keep things tidy as Jedi does, we should be okay. We have younger, fitter and better players to bring the ball forward than Whelan. It's about time Bruce starts understanding the basics.

there was a very brief spell where Whelan looked the part doing just that. It's when he's asked to the running around or partnered with Jedinak in midfield that we run into trouble. So hopefully if he's just asked to do the very simple stuff and break up plays we should be fine.

Team pretty much as expected.
Not much on the bench to mix it up if required. I'd have preferred to see O'Hare and RHM instead of BB and Onomah.

Whelan is too slow. Would rather Onomah played instead. Jedinak is injury prone - he's had a 2 week break ffs!

Agree with that but both picked are deemed versatile I suppose

In the racing post today they went for a villa win as they think we have too much pace for forest. Whether they have watched a different villa to me or whether forest have all the pace of snails remains to be seen then

Forest looked pretty quick against Arsenal!

By pace they must mean Adomah.
