that's a par with Scott Hogan then.

I'll take anyone's money in a bet that he won't score half the goals Scott Hogan has in his career to date.

Assuming you aren't counting non league as stats for Davis at that level aren't listed anywhere, you really think he'll fail to score 26 more goals in his career?

Edit - I was counting non league for Hogan!

But no, I don't think Davis will score another 26 goals. Certainly not for us.

So you do think Hogan was a professional while at Woodley Sports.

Edit: ah, you edited while I was typing.
Assuming he has a full career, he will. It's 2 a season assuming he plays until he's 35 or 36.

Keinan needs to find a way to get a goal in the PL. I get what he offers coming on late especially if we are winning to see out a game. But if he does address it before Wes gets back he will fall behind him for sure. And thatís also assuming we donít bring in anyone else. Good for him on the new deal but I would absolutely still send him out on loan for the season.

Well according to many on here he's not good enough for the top 2 divisions so most of the rest of his career with be in division 3 or 4, If mediocre players like Byfield and the Fonz can score a few each year at that level then so can Davis.

Averaging 3.5 starts a season across that period, so Iíd imagine it depends on whether people think he will improve on that.

he's not a striker to my mind, and it seems a waste of his other talents trying to turn him into one. I really can't see the point in wasting the next 4 years developing him into a guy who could probably get 10 goals a season in the championship for someone when his contract runs out, when he could potentially be a pretty useful premiership attacking midfielder for us.

He probably will fail to be fair. He averages a goal a season.

I love the way players are what they are, and they never improve. Ever.

If he's good enough for Brian Green, he's good enough me.

And averages 5 starts a season. He's most likely never going to be prolific, but working on the premise many have that he's so bad he'll soon be in the lower leagues then he'll be starting more than 5 a season.

I don't really care one way or another if he's going to score goals in the lower leagues, it's his ability to score goals in whichever league we are playing in that bothers me.

I just can't see us being in a situation any time soon where we have enough elsewhere in the team to be able to carry a striker who can hold up the ball quite well but never looks like scoring.

If we are giving him this deal in the hope that he delivers, then that's fair enough, but my problem would be if we found ourselves relying on him to start scoring, which is the position we found ourselves in at the end of last season.

I dunno, i guess this needs to be looked at in the context of the business we do in the rest of this window, but if we find ourselves at some point looking to KD as someone who needs to be scoring goals for us (again), then we're in trouble.

I'm replying to people saying he won't score 26 goals in the rest of his career, so in that context who he plays for doesn't matter.

I don't think he should be starting for us in the league, but that's not what was being talked about.
