I'm about five pages too late but let it be known that for nigh on twenty-five years I have been teaching French children that 'mom' is the correct spelling in Brummie English. I make them write it in their books too.

Bloody solid to get a card in a card shop that says MOm - they all say Mum.

When all this blew up, I googled the term and apparently Mom became popular in America because non-english speaking immigrants had a problem pronouncing words with U in them. My theory is the dialect of yamyam causes similar problems...

One of the most famous features is the
'yam yam' sound when saying certain phrases. 'You are' is pronounced yo'am and 'are you' is pronounced 'am ya'.

Vowels are also often changed. When people greet each other they use the phrase 'Yow awight' meaning 'you alright'.

Never in a million years is he a PL level striker. And I don’t even know if he’d make it in the Championship.

He should have been dominant out there today but didn't make much happen.  If he's not bringing others into play then, with his abysmal finishing, he offers nothing.

Might as well loan him out if anyone will take him. Having no striker on the bench is better than selecting Davis as last season proved.

Archer would offer far more than him, but Smith prefers Davis,

well he's going be blocking their path to the team for the next 4 years while Smith tries to turn him into the lower league Emile Heskey. Still we're probably get 200k for him in 2024.

He offers absolutely fuck all.

Occasionally shielding the ball is not enough.

He doesn't even get shots, let alone goals. If he played for anyone else, we'd be pointing at him and laughing.

Still, another 4 years of him lumbering around never really looking like scoring unless he's playing a third division side.

You mean the game where he played up front and didn't do his job, yet again.

You do know that as a "forward" he's the most responsible for scoring goals? Any good one is on their toes to tap in Watkins's strike that the Stoke keeper parried back into the box. Davis just doesn't possess that instinctive skill.

He'll do well where Jordan Bowery has found some success, League Two.

Oh, you mean the game where he set up the first goal with a strong run and pass, beating the defender?

The same game where plenty of posters on here went out of their way to say how well he had played?

Yeah, that game!
