How is changing the name to something less tedious and unoriginal "dicking the fans around"?
Well it's not if you have absolutely no sense of history and tradition.

I was talking about Hull. They have no history or tradition. They'd be better changing their name and having a new start. About 90% of clubs have changed their name at some point. Presumably they all abandoned their "history and tradition" and nobody should support them any more?

Clubs like Villa, Wednesday, Forest, Hotspur, and so on, have interesting names and should keep them. Boring Uniteds, Citys, and Towns should change. The English language has hundreds of thousands of words, there is no need to be so pathetically unoriginal.

What on earth are you talking about..."Boring Towns should change"?

So Huddersfield should lose Town as there are multiple others.

Winner of numpty comment of the year.

Town, United and City are boring names. I've no idea who was first. If it was Huddersfield then they should still be called Town. If not, they should change.

I think the Numpty Post of the Year Trophy is still safe in your possession after your "we all laugh at racist jokes so calling someone  a black bastard is harmless, really" comment.

Your use of quoting me is incorrect as those words were never displayed by myself on any post.

Pulling the race card and slandering me is not cool.

I paraphrased. That's basically what you said. And you don't understand the term "playing the race card". I can't say I'm shocked at you displaying your stupidity again.

Ah basically what I said, loosely translated as I never actually said that.

Let's leave that debate where it belongs hey and get back on topic.

Towns, United et al maybe "boring" in your little fans bullying world, but they were created 100 years ago and are important and traditional to the fans whom follow them.

Is Park boring for our stadium name? Shall we change that as there are multiple other venues with park in the name?

No, our ground is synonymous with history and tradition in a way that Hull City aren't. Plus addresses tend to be generic. Most of us live on a Road, Avenue, Street, etc.

The club name is the club's identity. It shouldn't just be boring copycat nonsense. I couldn't tell you, off the top of my head, what colours Exeter City or Torquay United play in, but I can picture Plymouth Argyle. Their decision to not be boring helps them stand out and be memorable.

And 90% of clubs have changed their names anyway. Noone died in the process.

Now you're just lying, everyone on this forum could say In an instance what colours those teams play in.

So Man Utd chose to be boring after Newton Heath?

It's dreadfully arrogant to suggest a fanbase who love their club just as we do should have some dickhead owner foist a new name or club colours upon them. At first I thought you were being tongue in cheek CD but when I realised you were serious by feebly defending your paperweight argument I wasn't impressed.  Have a word with yourself buddy.

My father was born in Hull and he always says there are three teams in Hull. ..hull Kingston rovers, Hull City and hull. The mention of Hull City changing their name has an 88 year old man going off into a rant that is only usually reserved for poor villa performances.

Yeah I think The Villadrome would be great. Much less boring than dull old Villa Park

Because their owner's a c*** - fuck the fuckers!

Villa 3-0

I like their owner. He's right, "Hull City" is a massively unoriginal and boring name. "Hull Tigers" is much better.

Anyway, 0-0.

I feel the same about us sharing our name with Pelsall. Boring.  I'd much prefer we changed to the B6 Bullets.

Our name is superb. "Hull City" is atrocious. Not sure what there is to gain by pretending otherwise?

You started the nonsense CD.

What "nonsense"? You think "City" is a decent name for a team?

No I think football supporters deserve not to be dicked about by moronic owners who suggest changing the name of their effing football club. Hull is a city. Hull City FC. Fucks sake.

Hull actually isn't a city but Kingston upon Hull is.

Much prefer The Villa Bella myself, as long as I don't get hit on the head with a brick like uncle Albert.

Yes! They are the textbook example. Used to have an interesting name, Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Institute. Changed it to generic "Nameofcity Tediousname" dullness. Went from interesting (though admittedly horrible) colours to the most boring colours in football. They couldn't even think of a name for the stadium, they had to copy the cricket club!

Great example, thanks. "Manchester United" is about as boring a name as it's possible to get. They should definitely change it back.

If they love their club just as much as we do, I'm sure changing from a boring name to a much better one wouldn't be enough to put them off going.
