With injuries to Kodjia, Adomah and Grealish, I wouldn't be surprised to see an attacking player or two to arrive before the window closes.

We must get off to a strong start and I'd go with;

Johnstone

Taylor
Terry
Chester
Bree

Whelan
Lansbury
Hourihane

Elmo
Green
Hogan

Hourihane playing a lot higher up the pitch and the wide men getting close to Hogan.

2-0 Villa. Moderators, a poll if you please.

Id also agree with this, but with Hutton for Bree and Gabby for Elmo(if injured).

3-0 Win to Villa (Hogan x2, Terry header)

We should be a bit more settled than them. A win would be nice. Is De Laet still injured? Haven't seen much mention of him for the RB slot. Bree didn't impress much in his few appearances last season but it's concerning that Hutton is starting the season as first choice.

2-1 Villa. I'm expecting shakiness from us, especially going forwards. If Hourihane wants the number ten role, this is the time for him to grab it. On paper, him and Hogan could be brilliant.

I'm so glad Villa are back though. Finally.

We would be investigated by the FA if he was as other clubs are bound to be complain. Knowing our luck in these matters we would be relegated to the 4th division as punishment.

The procession begins.  3-0 to Villa and their team bus will get a puncture on the way home.

I haven't seen Villa play live since 2010, I think; so, I'll base my team selection on who I don't want in there as opposed to who I want to see there:

Steer/Bunn

Elmo Chester Terry Taylor

Whelan

Bacuna/Green Hourihane Amavi/Green

McCormack Hogan

Subs: Gabby, Lyden, Samba, Gardner, Thor, Lansbury, Steer/Bunn/Amavi/Green/Bacuna

1-0 or Maybe 0-0

I reckon he'll go:

Johnstone / Steer

Hutton Chester Terry Taylor (nailed on this is our defence)

Bacuna Whelan (Bacuna looked sharp whereas hourihane hasn't)

Elmo Lansbury Green

Gabby

But personally I'd sacrifice the number 10 for Hogan and put Lansbury alongside Whelan for this game, even if it means ceding a bit of possession. A MoN style 442

Hull have sold Elmo Davies Maguire and Robertson this summer - a whole back four. Let's get at that defence

More I think about it, if all those listed above are fit, I can see that team playing on Saturday.  If Johnstone doesn't make it, then I reckon it will be a bench of:

Bunn, Bree, Samba, Amavi, Hourihane, Bjarnason and Hogan.
