Both wore white in the final as well. It was the first time Mayo had worn white in an All-Ireland final since 1951.

My father in law is chuffed, he went to the final in 1951 and never thought it would be repeated in his lifetime.

My late mum and dad (from Ballina & Foxford respectively ) were both there in 1951. Dad will be a very happy Holte Ender in the Sky tonight.

I've had some bad experiences with Mayo folk.

I have seen Mayo lose 9 finals. I am in Spain when they win. My 3 daughters were there. They were all crying at the end. Hon Mayo!
