Saturdays are better for fans than Wednesdays, and it makes the match easier to watch for people in The Americas or Asia, which is probably why UEFA changed it. Can't see how anyone loses out by the game being on a weekend tbh.

Oh God yes.

I think a large part of my dislike of Liverpool has little to do with the club and their fans in particular, it's the BBC cliche machine that clicks into place when they get near to winning anything.

It's like they have a department on permanent standby waiting to go into action, like The Day Today when war is declared between Australia and New Zealand.

And to help fans who are overwhelmingly likely to come from Spain, Italy, England or Germany they hold it in easy to get to places like Kiev and Moscow.

This year is the first time it has been held anywhere in Eastern Europe in ten years. It's a European Cup, the final should be held at various locations all over the continent. As it is. The last seven finals including this year were in/will be in Kiev, Cardiff, Milan, Berlin, Lisbon, London and Munich.

Seems a pretty fair and reasonable spread of venues to me.

Remember when Lawro's predictions were a major debate on here. He still does them, think he last predicted Liverpool to draw a game in 1995.

They should make this one easy for the Liverpool fans and hold it in Oslo.

Or Ashton Gate.

Or At any service station on the M6 on a Saturday afternoon.  They'll get 100k of the fuckers there

I like that it's in Ukraine in the year the World Cup is in Russia, not that it was intended I'm sure......

Sorry! It was a choice between spending time Googling recent European Cup Final venues or doing some actual work.

You can see why I made my choice.

Re their kop end, I couldn't believe how small it was when I was in there for the European championships X number of years ago. My vote is that anything L'pool can f-ck off!

Standing at the Anfield Road end in the '70s, it was hard to understand the media b******* about them being the 'friendliest' supporters.

1977

Yes, that's the one.

What a magnificent job Chris Hughton has done.
