I can't have been the only one on here who was watching it and thinking "there is no way in a million years they will miss a second penalty".

Didn't JPA miss two in a match once for us?
At Fulham I think when they played at Loftus Road?

It was at Craven Cottage midweek around 2005. Winning 1-0 and Angel missed 2 penalties then they fucking equalised in the last minute. I think it was also Djemba Djemba’s debut. I knew it was an omen.

Lee Clark scored the equaliser, as I remember.

Was that the same game Bocanegra effectively ended Delaney's career?
Chico and Pat presumably went on the lash afterwards.

Was that the same match he scored an OG in as well?

He may have done but not both in stoppage time, can't ever remember seeing that happen.

Nope, that was home to Spurs. Missed a penalty, scored an own goal and then Barry equalised.

Despite a rather juvenile unrequited hatred from their fans towards us, it's difficult to be pissy about the celebrations last night, what was over the top when they beat us in October was understandable last night in the circumstances.

I consider the ritual of a handshake actually quite important, it's a sport at the end of the day and you have to take victory and defeat in generally the same manner. However, the Wolves manager was overtaken not by spite, being a bad loser or trying to take the piss as we have seen with the likes of Wenger and Mourinho before but by sheer joy at such a finish and that is what football can provide at times, it needs to be embraced.

I take Colin's point but his reaction was pathetic, and embarrassing.

Great goal from GB as I recall

Why didn't he take the penalty?

I thought we (possibly JPA) missed 2 away against Fulham and consequently we only drew the match? I remember Angel taking a corner against Spuds and accidentally kicking the flag; kicking the ball straight out of play. They launched an attack from this and got a corner, which Angel headed into our net.

Even at the time I couldn’t help laughing.

Yeah, the midweek after his heroics in the Tranmere semi.

That all happened as well - it's just not the match that he scored that own goal.

I had a double nightmare switching between the Villa game and the Liverpool game. Watching my team lose and the team I had stuck a few quid on failing to win.
