Hard to know as games haven't been live on Youtube before and we haven't been this shite for over 40 years. Don't forget we had that friendly at home against Parma a few years ago and the club swerved saying how many (or few) turned up.

Tonight's friendly off because of waterlogged pitch

Aston Villa’s friendly game with Arminia Bielefeld has been called off due to weather conditions.

The referee for tonight’s 6pm kick-off at Heidewaldstadion has inspected the waterlogged pitch this morning and deemed it unfit for play.

Steve Bruce’s men will now travel back to the UK to prepare for the Graham Taylor memorial game on Saturday.

Part of the issue is that Graham Taylor managed us 30 years ago. For fans of my age we remember that period quite clearly. But his significance won't resonate with literally generations of fans since who will never appreciate who he was, what he meant to us, what he meant to football in this area and to the game of football in general.

Just a thought, but couldn't the Watford game have a bit more prominence here (i.e, it's own thread in the main discussion area)? I only ask this because of whose memorial it is. As it is, it buried in a pre-season thread, out of obvious sight.

Yes, that's why nobody under the age of forty joined in with the "Graham Taylor's claret and blue army" chant at Wolves last season, none of our fans who weren't watching in 1982 ever sing about us winning the European Cup, and every home fan under the age of 140 walks past the William McGregor statue bemused each game.

If there's one thing Villa fans are well known for, it's not taking an interest in our history or being willing to bring it up in conversation.
