The one we are in.

The Championship is easily the biggest second tier in the World. Respectfully, I'm not sure what TV is on about in this instance.

What I'm on about is that it has the potential given how big the PL prize is to make itself more accessible. I made this point above that look how hard it was to find games to follow last season, even by radio. In 2017 it should not be that hard and when it is people disengage. The Football League management should be doing more to make the games easier to see much like the PL has done.

I doubt there's anything they haven't tried but I'm sure they'd welcome your input.

When many fans are watching through grainy internet streams, catching the Norwich or Blues games through fans cell phones I'm sure there's lots they can still try to do to make the games more accessible. Do you think that's acceptable? If they want to grow the league then find ways to allow more people to experience it. I live in Canada. There's lots of fans of teams not in the PL. We'd like to watch them too. And when we are able to get games others are in bars watching too who get exposed to it.

Gosh. I bet they've never thought of that.

So instead of having a sensible discussion you decide to be sarcastic. That's mature. Of all of the people on here you are most closely tied to the inner workings of the game. So instead of offering your knowledge you resort to offering childish responses. Have I really offered up anything that outrageous that games in this division should be better marketed or broadcasted? Why don't you enlighten me as to all of things they have done.

To be fair to them, isn't the Football League setting up an internet channel this year for people outside the UK to watch matches?

Alternatively, you could just attend VP.

Not having much dealings with the Football League's marketing department I can't really help you there. However, I would guess that they spend a decent amount on pushing what they have, explore all avenues and generally do as well with their product as the Premier League do with theirs. It's a bit daft, or naive if you prefer, to say that there's something they could do and haven't. Do you honestly think they don't sell games just because they can't be bothered, or that you've come up with something unique and previously unthought of? Because that IS childish.

I thought they were too which is great and much needed. I didn't think we were going to be a part of that though and were going to set up our thing through AVTV. Not sure what happened with that. But it would be a good thing overall if that happened with the Football League.

I don't think it's unreasonable in the world of live streaming on Facebook and the like for overseas fans to expect a bit more opportunity  to see Championship teams play.

To use your word, as much as it's naive to think that there are easy things the Football League could do and just haven't it's equally naive to think that in a word where technology seems to be changing by the day that the Football League (an organisation renowned for it's traditional attitude towards life) have fully embraced, assessed and delivered all the potential opportunities changes in technology brings.

It is, easily, the best-supported and most well known second tier on the planet.

I imagine Villa followers in Canada have far more opportunity to see their team than fans of Ingolstadt, Avellino, Queen of the South or Alcorcon do.

It's a second tier. That's why it doesn't have a higher profile. Considering that, they do pretty well.

Which is precisely what I'm saying. The Football League got left behind when the PL emerged. They need to be more forward thinking to stay in touch with new, younger fans or those fans end up supporting the obvious clubs in the PL.

Back to the kit. I noticed on Terry's interview with AVTV the kit actually looked claret!

Is it? I live in the Canada, have done for 20 years and am about to move to a Chicago. I travel across North American frequently. Most fans struggle when I say I support Aston Villa let alone know what league we are in. Games are very hard to come by. Only a handful were broadcast on Bein Sports last year. And there were countless mornings I followed the game via radio, shitty streams and in some cases not at all.

So I accept that almost in spite of themselves and due to lack of investment in other second tiers they are known, but I would hardly go as far as to say well known outside of the UK and some parts of Europe.

If I was in the Football League marketing department, I'd be pretty pee'd off with Channel 5's coverage, it's dire at best.

I'd guess that's more the fault of Canadians? If you don't know who Aston Villa are, you're not very interested in football. It's an ice hockey country, innit?

How many French Second Division games were you able to watch last season?

I can agree with that. They should get rid of the talking; have a ninety minute Championship show at nine and a ninety minutes League One/Two show at half ten.

I do like Lynsey Hipgrave though.

If being more popular than French football is the height of your ambition you're in the wrong job.
