man of the match between Hutton, Baker and Taylor - all gave more than 110%

Jutkiewicz - surprisingly I would snap him up given half a chance might be our answer for Hogan - someone to play off.

Lansbury - well overrated in my opinion - he has faded badly from a relatively bright start - may just need a rest though.

They were the worst team and fans we've had at VP since Rotherham in our first home game. After all the spouting about how poor our support was at their gaff (which it was), their support was absolutely diabolical.

We were crap but still managed to beat them which makes them fume even more and makes it even funnier.

Come on Blackburn!

Mathematically and Saunderistically it is impossible to have a figure more than 110%.

I was on a guided tour of the colosseum in Rome.
Wearing my 1971 Wembley retro shirt.
Sending sms messages to my son for updates, Big thumbs up to the Imperial Box when I heard Gabby had scored.
ET Tu Gabby.

On leaving we were mulling over what team we should play at Blackburn.  I think the first name on the team sheet should be Libor Kozak, the second should be Tommy Elphick, the third should be Mark Bunn, the fourth should be Micah Richards (at centre back), fifth Gary Gardner, sixth Gabby then perm any five from the rest of the squad excluding Johnny Kodjia.  Elphick captain of course.

I think it would only be fair to play our best players against Blackburn. Therefore I'd play Kodjia in goal, Chester on the left wing and Jedinak up front.

It might also be the ideal time to try out a 1-2-7 formation , just to see whether it works for next season.
I think we should also try defending a game with only 10 on the pitch after 10 minuts as that can happen occasionally and it's best to be prepared.

As much as I am delighted for us to win that photo pretty much sums up how far we have fallen in the last few years.

I am embarrassed by it.  It is the kind of thing they would do and we would quite rightly slaughter them for being so small time.
For me anything that builds up team spirit and wolf-pack mentality is good.

If we play Jedinak at Blackburn he must be told that he must pass the ball back to Bunn in goal as much as possible.  Just his usual approximate stuff.

Here is some genuine out of the box thinking. Can we just play with just 11 outfield players and not bother with a goalkeeper ?  I mean you don't know if it might work if its never been tried.

Slightly off topic but this reminds me of a drunken chat I had a few weeks back, is it legal to play with two goalkeepers at the same time,  or do the rules state it has to be 1 plus 10 outfield players?

The head tennis invokes a noise from the ground similar to being on a runway just as an aeroplane flicks into full egnine rage mode. Quite beautiful.

thing is, and I take it that my distance could be playing a part in this, but as well as relief and the usual furore in my head accompanying a Villa win, especially against The Shit, but I can't help feeling a sense of detachment. That we didn't let them off the hook and are pushing them closer to the trap door resonates more than pride in Villa themselves actually winning a game. I can't remember feeling so distant from the team as now. we're just not very good and do not play well week in week out. I'd rather not hear Bruce admit every week that we haven't played well as he feeds into the detachment that I feel. Still, we've won. I still feel kind of flat though. Still I've only ready page 1 of this. I'll go back to page 2 and start reading to see if something can fire me up other than a derby where we've had 4 shots and only 1 on target. As important as that 1 was.

He gains a small degree of credit back as it pissed them lot off to know a player we hold I certain degrees of contempt scored against them. Love him or loathe him, we won! Sit down ball bag head!!
