Get well soon big man. Loved him at the heart of our defence, my first car was named after him by my girlfriend at the time.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. 2 memories from the back of my mind. His shirt was the largest made by the kit manufacturer. I'm sure that I can recall him being either the 1st black England player or the 1st black England captain when playing for the U23's. This was before Viv Anderson for the full team. Does anyone have any info on this?

Viv Anderson played for England about 15 years beforehand didn't he?

Viv Anderson was the first black player to win a full cap for England, that was back in the late 70s.

You are right PeterWithe, Anderson 1978, Ugo 1992. I don't know what my memory is about then.

He's passed away according to Jason Cundy. RIP big man, loved watching you as a lad. I remember as a kid one of our neighbours knew him through doing his electrical work on his house. The bloke told him I was a massive Villa fan and he sent me a signed photo and shirt. Ugo, Ugo!
