I don't care about stats - his overall contribution to the team is very poor

His overall contribution is to set up a lot of goals.

I would have thought having the second highest number of assists in the division, when he is playing in the team with the second lowest number of goals means that his overall contribution is pretty significant, if not crucial!

It's not just pointless stats though is it, it's 9 times he's directly contributed towards a goal.

I think he set up both Hutton and Hourihane's chances on Saturday as well.

Adomah & Kodjia can enhance this team further if they work harder on closing down opposition defenders more, for me it seems Chester & Baker get pressure put on them a lot more than our forwards put on opponents

The thing is, every club will have fans who scrutinise their players and see all the imperfect/bad things they do. But if the stats read impressively - he's a winger and he's near top of the assists league, rival fans/neutrals will assume that he's one of the best players in the league. The truth is probably in between - he could be a lot better, but for our current level, he's more than adequate most of the time.

In a season when we rarely score and when we have it's been generally Kodjia assisted by Adomah the pair have had an awful lot of criticism!

the "problem" I have with Kodjia and Adomah is that I suspect they're potentiall a lot better than we've seen.  Watching Kodjia there's absolutely no reason he shouldn't be aiming for 25-30 goals and 10+ assists in a season and for Adomah he should be creating 2-3 good chances every game because he's a good crosser and he sees a pass very quickly.  Both of them are a little bit let down by their belief that they need to do it on their own which causes them to take on more than they should.
