At dome point, on some day the luck must be on our side - it has to happen eventually.
So we'll be lucky on Saturday and draw 1-1

And beat Bristol City.

That's how we tend to do it. Gritty draw followed by a win, we rarely seem to bang out a shock 2-0 comfortable one to jump back into form, where (and this is likely a misconception) other sides appear to do.

Beat Derby and we will be celebrating 3 on the bounce for the first time since O'Neill come the following weekend.

We are adding pressure to a group of players who don't need it right now. We have a decent set of players and manager. Give them a bit of breathing space and they'll turn it around. Keep micro analysing like we do and we will shoot ourselves in the foot with that never ending spiral of self destruction. 1-0 Villa.

They need breathing space for sure, but do you seriously think a scattering of interwebsters with long standing grudges against each others' positions  "micro analysing" the the games has any effect whatsoever on what happens on the pitch? Or for that matter upon the crowd's general demeanour?

I think not.

We're up to page 52 on the Bruce out thread. You think the owner and staff are oblivious to the atmosphere that starts to generate when things don't immediately turn around?

What is said on here in isolation is irrelevant.
See our current form and the attention this is getting.

What atmosphere is that?

At Newcastle on Monday there was the usual;

Steve Bruce
Claret and Blue Army!

There's the usual grumbling about players being on a subs, but nothing you wouldn't have heard at the height of MON's popularity.

The Derby fans all seem to think we'll beat them on their website at least.

I was there for 3-4 game in the cup, seems like yesterday (unfortunately does not feel like it)

I am going for 1-1 draw, as both teams are not playing well

We do seem to have a knack of ending teams bad runs.  If anyone is in a rut they must love seeing a fixture against us come up.

didn't Cantscorino make his debut against Derby? was that the day we were taking the mick out of Shilton for his dalliance with a woman called Tina?

Certainly not in the home game. Platt scored iirc. Not sure Shilton was still playing then or that we signed cascarino until the latter part of the season

It was Cascarinos debut.  The save Shilton made from his header is high up that seasons What If list.

Ahem

I was wrong about Shilton but Platt scored and Cascarino was not bought until 2nd part of season
