the youth and academy has to be seen as a massive failure right now

for all the state of the art training facilities and much vaunted successful sides there is not one, not a single one deemed good enough to step up in our hour of need in any position,
It's a massive disappointment

I couldn't agree more.  Given the size of the club, the resources and the catchment area, whilst we do well with the Hong Kong sixes quite often, our academy is failing us.  I hope that Pitarch and Smudge have plans for it.

It definitely seemed to take a dip

We've always had trouble transitioning from 19 to 22 though

In recent years, we couldn't find a way to blood in Albrighton, Davis, cahill, Robinson, Johnson, stevens etc

We need to find a way to do that. I do think it starts with a  loan.

Finger has to be pointed at the sport science area too then. Far too many of them have persistent soft tissue injuries (Green, RHM) and it's not from exposure to adult football.

We must be the biggest underachievers in European football so it's no surprise that almost every area of the club is nowhere near the required standard. Ellis and Lerners legacy.

If you want to feel old, Baker made his debut for us nearly 8 years ago.

We looked rudderless without him again at times today.

Play both.

Although I think Dack will go for big money to the prem soon.

You know there was a midfielder at Forest who could have played the more forward role alongside McGinn, got involved, scored some goals, looked a right player at this level. Not seen him for a couple of years though.

Bradley Dack is way too good for t'Rovers. I think he'd fit right in under Dean Smith.
In the meantime I'd be playing lazy bones Kodjia in the #10 role. It's not exactly working right now, is it?
