Good win by the Bears at Durham in the T20. That was a must win game. Both openers, Pollock and Sibley got 50s.

Good win today up at Durham restricting them to 145/8 then knocking them off with 31 balls to spare.
50's for both Pollock and Sibley and a 34 blast from de Grandhomme.

Back in with a shout...must win at Old Trafford realistically to qualify.

Yep.  The group is very tight and a number of teams have a game or games in hand over us.  We'll have a better idea of how we stand come Friday, but I think it is probably going to be a case of win or bust.

We've had a very decent T20 campaign. Looks like it will all come down to Friday night against Lancy Lancy now, hopefully they're out by then.

Those first few overs in the home game against Worcester could turn out to be very costly.  Had we won that game we would have been in a stronger position now.

Disappointing result for us given the campaign Worcester have had. I always feel it's a tougher game for us against them than it is for others though, with the derby factor.

One thing which has really put us at a disadvantage is only getting to play the whipping boys Durham once, whereas I think everyone else will have played them twice!

I still think of them as The Bears, always have, always will.

It will be interesting to see what the new regional team will be called when that competition launches.

Not that I attend any of the hit and run matches anyway but there is no way I would go and support a team called 'Leeds' or anything other than Yorkshire.

there will have to be a compromise. I suggest calling the new cricket team, Aston Villa.

You seem to be struggling with the concept. I don't mind teams being named after where they come from. I get bored by tedious, generic, names like "City", "United" or "Town".

"Bears" isn't employed by any other county and reflects the county emblem so makes sense. If we were called "Birmingham United" or, shudder, "Birmingham City", that would obviously be rubbish.

I prefer Warwickshire.
