Well with the teams we've got left to play we accumulate 25 yes 25 points in the reverse games earlier this season.

Half of that and I reckon we'll be safe....48 and a half points should be enough for 21st place.

Another 25 points would put us just about top half on the past few seasons.

25 points is 8 wins and a draw.  From 14 matches.

Really?!

I was only saying if we replicate our results v same opposition earlier this season.

Derby- D
Bristol City- L
Rotherham- W
Sheffield Weds- L
Wigan- W
Norwich- L
QPR- W
Burton- W
Huddersfield- D
Fulham- W
Reading- W
SHA- D
Blackburn- W
Brighton- D

24 points against remaining opposition from earlier this season.

Of course we got most of those points at home and we're shite away so I just halved the points.

Regardless we should be o.k not that it's anywhere near good enough from a league we should be enjoying and winning most weeks eh Adam?

This is more depressing than our premier league years for me.

Bristol City losing, they have a very tough run in.

Tammy Abraham also injured, won't play v us.

Good.
We really need all those below us to continually lose, whilst we don't care too much about those above....unless they are playing Villa !
Is a small shout for Fulham in order ? No. OK.

it is I like Fulham my brother is a life long Villa fan but lives a mile or so from the ground so has adopted them as his second club. They have done very well this year.

you can't really just halve the points though can you? If you're suggesting we won't get any more wins, we're looking realistically at 10 points. Fuck knows how it will go, but current form suggests not too many wins and quite a few losses. Would 10 more points see us safe? I can't honestly believe we're even having to contemplate this after the money we've spent. It's a bad joke.

If we can get the next three games right, and they're going to be the clash of the over dipped rich tea biscuit versus the soggy wheatbix, then there's a chance that in a weeks time we could have 7 or 9 points under our belts.

Bristol and Rotherham simply have to be put away, no questions about that. Bristol are without their top forward, Abrahams and are on as big a spiral as us. The Derby game holds the key to it; confidence is crucial. We need an Andi style in off your arse in the last minute effort to breathe it into them, as they're good players for this level.

I never said that.

I just was making the point that we've got a decent record against most of the teams we've got left to play given we've beaten or drawn with most of them earlier in the season.

I don't think it's asking a lot to think we could get a draw at home to Bristol and then beat Rotherham away. Rotherham have 19 fewer points than we do and are already relegated...if we don't beat them Steve Bruce should be sacked on the spot.

Whatever way we look at it I really don't see us going down....I doubt you'll need 50 points and we will surely go on an unbeaten run of 4-5 games between now and the end which will probably be enough on its own.

And just to qualify before you all think I'm a happy clapper or whatever it is nowhere near good enough for the money we've spent and how we should be in this division.

Their form is every bit as woeful as ours, so we all know that getting three points in the bag is an absolute MUST when they come to VP. It's ironic that Lee Johnson was being touted (by some) as a possible replacement for RDM: yet a few months later he looks like he could end up with his P45 before Bruce! It's a funny old game innit...

The way to deal with this is nip it in the bud now, 9 points and no fuck ups from the next 3 matches. Now Jedinak is back watch the results start to go our way.

For the record I'm still looking at 6th place with a John Gregory run to finish the season. It is written in the stars that we will play Newcastle in the final and hand out a damn good thrashing to those northern upstarts.
