I still don't know how people can use McCormackgate as a stick to beat Bruce (or any other manager with)

McCormack took the piss out of the club by not turning up to do his very well paid job, not once but numerous times.

What is a manager supposed to do when a player does that? serious question.

Do you think his team mates would have wanted him welcomed back into the fold like he'd done nothing wrong either?

Imagine the message that would've sent out. I'm a supporter and I couldn't care if Ross had previously scored five hat tricks in a row. You can't have players taking the piss and doing whatever they want. For all his faults, the one thing Bruce definitely got 100% right was getting the whole squad unified last season. There were no bad apples as far as I could see, just a group of players all playing for their manager and each other. For the first time in YEARS.

I'm not even sure McCormack has even apologised to Bruce or his team mates. Fuck him, and rightly so.

.... and an opposing reaction to Gabriel Agbonlahor's indiscretions.

If McCormack's mind wasn't in the right place, I'm sure this wouldn't have helped.

I have absolutely no knowledge of Gabby missing training numerous times or pissing off his team mates and manager by doing so.

He's done plenty else mind and i've always assumed he must've held his hands up and admitted it hence getting a few cameos afterwards. I'd have shipped him out personally but i don't know what went on behind closed doors. Bruce does.

Someone mentioned that Bruce had united the dressing room last year and that we should be happy for that. To mee this is how it works.
His 1st year, still unsettled squad and dressing room, ended up 13th (No Terry)
2nd season , play off final, some real signs of a united team, close but not close enough (Terry here)
3rd season, defensive shambles, players falling out with the manager, Elphick, Albert, alot more of them looking disinterested, no one seemingly knowing what they are suppose to be doing (No Terry)
Anyone see a pattern, and for someone to state that Bruce is not a chancer, to me a chancer in football is the type of manager who deflects blame from himself onto his players, especially the younger members of the squad.

I also still can't work out how Bruce knew Rossgate was not at training, as he is never f.....ing there.

he can probably afford  a mobile though so his staff can tell him who’s turned in and who’s wagging it

Probably one of those new i-phone X things with a genuine apple accessory  cover

The biggest issue Bruce potentially has is reuniting the dressing room. Many people have said that the players do not seem to be playing for him which was not the case last season. I think JT and Snoddy had a lot to do with that plus Brucie's personal issues would have rightfully gained a lot of sympathy.

The two Cup performances this season have done a lot of damage with players hung out to dry. The likes of Hourihane and Bjarny have been treated very badly in my opinion. Bjarny gets man of the match v Reading and dropped next game, it must be very frustrating.

I just can't see how he can survive this without pulling JT out of the hat.

I wish I'd never started watching this bloody Amazon series. It's given me a right footballing crush. And I already hate Poch for making me think those c***s Spurs are reasonable.

I think the genius thing about this, from Pep’s side, is agreeing to do it all. Sure, there’ll be an element of feeding his own ego here, but imagine the impact that having a camera-crew would be having on the professionalism and application of his players.  He knows he’s got to manage some big egos, and motivate some men who have literally no worries in life so how do you do it? Easy, you put them on daily scrutiny for the world and his dog to watch.

McCormack should have been disciplined to the maximum allowed by the club and rightly so. The full story should never have been made public by Bruce cos I’m pretty sure McCormack wouldn’t have gone public with the circumstances. I’m willing to bet that at every club in the country you’ll get similar situations but we rarely hear the circumstances. That’s how should have handled it

Not sure how you couldn't make it public with the level of media scrutiny there is now and the way things are leaked on social media.  I think Bruce deserves criticism for a myriad of things, but the way he has dealt with McCormack is not one of them.

The press don't seem to be focusing on the crazy decisions Bruce is making regarding line ups and tactics. On the Championship goals show on Saturday night our defeat was apparently down to our inconsistency - on the contrary I think we've been very consistent this season so far - very poor and that's got to be mainly down to the manager. Maybe he thinks well push on after the break with our new signings starting but I can't see much changing, Abraham's is a good signing but Bruce only ever plays one up front and the type of service the striker gets is usually the same whether you are Hogan or Kodjia.

5 league games in and we have actually got worse as the games progress.
How does that actually happen?

That’s the observation from afar I was referring to at the weekend. That the media would focus on the surface level stuff and never delve any deeper. We’ve been fucking mince for the majority of the season only briefly elevating ourselves to a level we all would agree is acceptable to compete in this division. And we didn’t even win that game. Bruce and his mates will spin this into a hard luck/wasn’t I treated poorly story when he gets fired. Make no mistake.

He's just Lamberk with a slightly better pedigree. Same pettiness, same lack of perspective, no tactical nous.

To be fair we normally build up confidence for a lot longer, over several more weeks,  before dashing our hopes on the rocks of despair. Has he gone yet?

He'll be surviving on the bullshit that the team against Blackburn will be ''' unrecognisable'' from the one fucking battered the weekend, Kodjia, McGinn, Grealish fully fit,Abraham in the squad, Bolasie fit, a week longer together to all gel. All the usual deflecting bollox he comes out with.

Yes, it will be interesting to see Bolasie at right back, Abraham at centre half, etc, can't wait!
