Even if Henry truthfully wasn’t in the picture I just wanted new ideas this season. Watching the Dresden game it’s just slow, error filled, defend deep, same old conservative gash.

With two great goals.

To be honest that doesn’t change a thing. I’d like to see passing and movement where we don’t need to score our equalizer from 25 yards out. Tap ins will do fine. A couple of screamers is nice but given how rare they are we need to do the basic stuff much, much better.

Let's hope we get it with the next manager.

When you look at our squad, what has Bruce brought to the table?
Our better players are either RDM acquisitions or existing/home grown.

He signed Hogan and Hourihane and ignored or didn't appreciate their strengths.
Hogan wouldn't have been my pick but he's a decent championship goal scorer.

Very much Bruce out still. I hope we only back him with loan signings this summer.

Nassef and Wes will hopefully be planning ahead.

His latest "tactic" is another desperate experiment.

In what way did Bruce ignore Hourihane's strengths ?

Seeing as we signed him as a goal scoring midfielder and he did exactly that ?

That last sentence is the best summary so far.

Changing a dinosaur is not changing for the sake of it.  It is changing for the sake (and good) of Aston Villa.

If we can change him in 2 months time, we can change him now.  If we want to write this season off with a change of manager in September (like we did 2 years ago) why not write it off now and give the next manager more time and also the remainder of this window?

Fair enough, but who would imprive us? Not asking to provoke but just want to hear who we could get to get better
Mauricio Pochettino - then Jack can stay where he is.

That would be nice.
But on the orignal question, it easy to say get rid but not easy supplying a plausible name for a replacement. So identify a problem but no solution.

A post on a villa Facebook site: "Dear Bruce,

Please: do not play Steer or Taylor again, do not play Jedinak at centre half again, do not play Elmohamedy as a winger again and do not deploy Adomah up front as a lone striker. Thanks'

On the money.

Seems a reasonable request, on the face of it.

Not sure who else he could have played up front other than the young kid Knibbs.

Steve, second half was so much better than the first.  More of the second than the first.  The first was Fulham, the second was not.

The role that either Jedi or Whelan played to allow to him to go further forward you mean?

I've heard Bruce attached remotely controlled electrodes to his nads that went off if he crossed the halfway line.

When I say 'I've heard', I meant from the voices inside my head, like.

If he had midfielders with legs, he may have got into the positions that suit his game.

He wasn't played deep at all, Whelan or Jedi normally sat deep.

Whelan and jedinak's legs have gone (Season 17/18)

Second half of the season he probably played further fwd than he did at barnsley where he was a cm in a 442

This myth that hourihane is a natural no 10, inhibited by. Bruce, really doesn't have any legs

He's our first midfielder to get double figures since 1991 FFS

Bruce hasn't really got legs? Is there anything else this bumbling charlatan is hiding from us?
