Whatever we think about Bruce.  To even contemplate replacing him with Henry in this league makes no sense on any football level.

This.

A pure fanboy appointment.
You don't get to amass the kind of fortunes our new owners have by making rash decisions based on emotions or by being star struck. IF they appoint Henry in favour of Bruce they will have grilled him on his ideas and his intentions. It won't be a "fanboy" decision. It may be a gamble but it will be a calculated one. To suggest that the new owners would make such a massive decision based purely on ego is quite frankly an insult to them.

It’s all a fanboy thing. It’s them, with their play thing, potentially appointing a former world class player who everyone knows. It’s something to boast about and show off to those that care.

Zola mk.2
Except the twonks that run that shower of shit aren't the third wealthiest in English football. I'm a glass half full kinda guy me.

I'm not impressed with the prospect of Henry in charge. He isn't one of the worst pundits but he isn't one of the best either. As for those people who like the idea of Bould potentially alongside him in Le Dugout, Bould has been Wenger's right hand man in recent years and been criticised heavily by the Arsenal fans along with Wenger.

I'm not sure skill as a pundit has much to do with being a good manager.  Gary Neville is widely considered to be a great pundit but was hopeless as a manager.  I can't see anybody paying to get Alex Ferguson's monosyllabic droning on TV, but he was a genius.

Anyway, I reckon if the Henry thing doesn't come off and Bruce stays in charge, everybody moaning about Henry will be secretly disappointed. :)

We'll, obviously. Just as it was your opinion when you said "it won't be a fanboy appointment".

That's sort of the point of the forum.

Going on the belief that for every club there is a perfect Manager ( ours was Mr Ron Saunders) Henrys appointment is as likely to be a success as it is to be a failure. I do hope that if this scenario is played out Steve Agnew is retained as there did seem a sea change in fitness and fortune from the day he was appointed. In addition after seeing the French U19s demolish England recently that Kevin MacDonald is replaced by someone connected to French Youth Development

I hope his first action is to apologise for that quick free kick wot he took against us and scored from. It was super-snide and being a snide is a really bad thing to be.

I will watch from afar but can't help think we are being mugged off by Daily star exclusives !

Didn't you say similar before Villa got dicked by Brentford?

No it was actually to do with Hogan I believe and hIm signing  or maybe it was him in a certain match to score !

Should Barry apologise for the quick one at Albion that lead us winning there? The real crime with that Henry free kick is that we were'nt switched on enough to defend it.

Ok. Appointing Henry as our new manager would have an element of "fanboy" about it I'll give you that.Henry's name would raise the profile of the club and potentially attract better players. That's a good thing surely? But do you think these people would be naieve enough to think that would be enough? They would have to be convinced that there's some managerial potential in there. In my opinion.

Did Zola achieve all this at Blose ?

At some point someone has to actually do well. On the flip of it being a gamble for us, imagine what we are to him. If Henry really is the next man through the door, then it's a pretty clear sign we are all ambitious enough to back him to get up.

I think we are mad making this change, but if it was to work it would be incredible.

Oh and great forwards make crap managers. Just reiterate my flip flopping on this one.

I hope his first action is to drum into our players that teams that win things are usually quick thinking and prepared to do whatever it takes to gain any sort of advantage over your opponents.
