I've not had any problems with HMRC and I have a alcoholic accountant.

It's always a few bad apples who give the rest of the hard-working, scrupulously honest alcoholic accountant community a bad name. I've always found them to be a very friendly, generous people once they come to accept you into their culture.

I've met Brian many times and something didn't ring true about this business with HMRC when he told me face to face. Can't put my finger on what it was, as it looks perfectly plausible when you see it written down.

I could live with a drunken accountant and probably continued to have him help me earn a crust but he could not function from prison.  He got so pissed he crashed his BMW at great velocity into the garden wall of a house in Bishops Stortford causing bricks to fly through the front windows injuring an elderly couple watching Come Dancing.

Lots of my best friends are alcoholics.

It is important to dispell the myth of accountants being dullards. I doubt he would have been caught dead watching such populist fare as Come Dancing. It's good to put a protest to these things sometimes.

I'm not entirely comfortable with our late start back to pre-season training.

I accept that we ended the season later than others but I'm always in favour of a 6 week pre-season and not the 4 that we are going to have.

Bearing in mind our dreadful start to last season which we never recovered from, I can't see how we'd benefit from a shorter period.

I hope I'm wrong.

Nothing like setting yourself such low targets I guess.

At least you'll see the season as a success no matter where we finish.

Nah, let's perpetuate it.

The difference between lawyers and accountants is that lawyers know they are boring!

I'll accept non-promotion (and relegation obvs) if this time next year we're fending off bids of £15m each for O'Hare, Hepburn and Green as it will have meant a season of enterprising football.

More like soliciting interest and selling them ASAP to the highest bidder.
