Presumably the owner and the chief executive etc were impressing on the club the absolute necessity of getting promoted, so you'd have to wonder what sort of idiot would install in the team the message that they should pass back to Sam Johnstone at every opportunity, who should then lump the ball straight back to Fulham, the best footballing side in the division.

Why change his tactics for one game?

It's one of the reasons I'd usually prefer a foreign coach - most British managers are ex-players, and most British players are as thick as shit, hence most British managers are as thick as shit.

It must have taken Fulham all of 2 minutes to work out how Bruce would set the team up.

But they are all good footballing men and they know the game inside out. Been there done it. What more do we need?

If Bruce stays my big lump on bet will be that, once his position is confirmed, one of his first three calls will be to Gabby.

I can see the press conference.

"I know Gabby is not everybody's cuppa tea but he is Villa through and through and he can do a job for us."

I feel sorry for the up and coming managers such as Eddie Howe who are disadvantaged by the likes of Bruce, Allardyce etc and not given a chance at big clubs because of the perceived style of play. That’s the type of manager we need to attract and give them a chance

I can hardly imagine him giving a player a contract who he's told to find another club and ignored even when he's been fit.

That was when he had money to chuck around.  If Bruce stays the economic realities have got to make him a far  more prudent money manager.  Gabby at 32 offering to come back for £5k a week will be like Charlie Chaplin in the Gold Rush so hungry he boils his boot and eats it.  Boot=Gabby  Charlie Chaplin=Steve Bruce.

If we're referring to old black and white films: Villa Board = Keystone Cops  ;)

At 5k a week Gabby would still be massively taking the piss out of the club

Even at a quid a week, i don't see what Agbonlahor adds.  What would be the point in him coming back, unless we are selling Davis, Hogan and the Kodge.  Even then, i would rather him stay away.
