Can I get a little melodramatic please and say that I think we're fucked.

If we don't go up via the playoffs (because automatic is absolutely gone now) there'll be an absolute fire sale next year to meet FFP.

We could be down here for a while...

I don't think its melodramatic. Any financial advantage has been pissed away.

Bruce has been riding the "stability" safety net his entire tenure.

We are playing playoff lottery now. I really hope we have the luck on our side.

Bruce out, regardless.

I agree with all that. If he did manage to get us up through play offs, and I'm very doubtful, get rid straight away.

Will be "interesting" to see what Xia's strategy will be next year with no cash

Thing is if we don’t go up do we keep him or get rid. Think there’s a case for both

Agree

If we don't go up he should be sacked the second our season ends.

He will be of that I have no doubt , at the least I imagine he is on a nice salary we won't be able to afford anymore.

Would imagine he will resign if we are not promoted this season...and the way things look right now I don't see us going up.

Is this still a thing?  Look back over posts and every time we get into the sort of form where we might go up you have people talking about how we'd have to give him a chance if he gets us up and some even suggesting his premier league record is fine and not something to be concerned about.  There's is absolutely zero chance of him being fired if we go up, so the summer would be given to him to build a squad and he'd get at least 10 games.  If we were bottom 5-6 after that then he'd go but whoever came in would have a Bruce squad to work with, and he doesn't have a record of leaving squads that go on to be successful.

My own belief is Bruce will still be in the VP hotseat whatever division we are in next season.

Well i don't think Bruce would want to stay given the financial conditions we'd have next season in the Championship. With hutton and Terry gone, some players reaching veteran stage and all the loan players gone, where we gonna find the money to replace 6 first team players?

you know what - even if we win the play-offs I can see Dr T ditching Bruce the day afterwards.

If we do not go up and Bruce is still in the hot seat, I shall not be in mine.

If we go up by some miracle and Bruce stays we will be getting what Watford got tonight, weekly.

If we go up and he goes, do we trust Wyness to appoint the sort of manager that gets results in the Premier league?

Ffp or not, do we even want to go up? If we don't, sack him, appoint Smith and play some decent football.

Also needs to swallow his pride and bring McCormack in from the cold if only for the playoffs because there's not a goal in the likes of Hogan and Davis. Comes a point when you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Bring RM back. On the strength of what exactly?

McCormak though can drop deep and play behind another striker he is also decent at free kicks . It gives you options at the very least.

that no-one else can hit a barn door with a banjo? It's another option we're denying ourselves and before he joined us he was a good player and a prolific striker. He's been punished, more so than some of the other wasters. Talking of which, do you want to rely on gabby in the play-offs if we pick up injuries?
