Bruce is the kind of bloke I'd love to meet in the pub every week for a couple of pints but wouldn't want him on my pub quiz team.

Exactly. He'd keep answering the questions before the quiz master had finished asking them.

It’s not actually Bruce’s fault as you can’t blame him from going through the motions and getting paid handsomely.  It’s Dr Tony’s fault for not seeing what is blatantly obvious.  Again another overseas owner with no football knowledge.   Doug would have called him into the office before now.

I think I disagree almost entirely with that. Surely the whole structure of the club is now constituted in a way where hiring and firing are not left to the whims and prejudices of one person. I also do not believe that Bruce is the type of manager or person to just just go through the motions. Limited yes, mercenary no.

You know when people are pining for Ellis that reason and common sense have been left behind.
Whatever the structure they have got this one badly wrong and we are now fighting for the lottery of the play offs.

Failure this season will mean a whole starting from scratch summer rebuild. Assets like Chester, Kodjia and maybe even Jack will be gone.

We'll have to sell them if we need to rebuild next season in the Championship.

I almost wonder whether building intelligently without having the funds we had when we first came down isn’t actually the right way of doing it. That we lashed out what we did to get straight back up has in many respects backfired. I get why we did it but we are now talking about the possibility of not going up.

As a club we need to think long term and the last window and the one upcoming are indications of our future. Start building properly and have a sustainable future. It can be done. Southampton and Leicester to name two, even Bournemouth and Burnley have solid structures in place that avoid significant volatility. We have to get there before having any loftier ambitions.

The chances are that Bruce will be binned in January after this tough run we have.

Next manager? Answers on a postcode.

I’d like him to be binned now but it is very unlikely he will be this season. Don’t go up and he’s gone  for sure.

I don’t think we have any choice, we have blown the Financial advantage we had.
Look at the squad we will be left with, it’s frightening.
Then you have the problem of having the right leadership, people and organisation to do what those clubs have managed.
The problem is every one else is trying the same trick.
Betting the farm on Bruce has the potential to cost us a lot more than just another failed promotion attempt.

A popular candidate on here, Bielsa, is now out of work again.

I don't know, Barca don't need a striker and play 6 in midfield. Maybe Bruce is on to something.

Too long. Most of the remainder of the season.

Actually, the rumour mill has been suggesting for some time that Tony Xia is no great fan of Bruce.  It has been hinted from more than one reliable source that Bruce is Wyness's man
