When we win he’s lucky.  When we lose he’s shit.  Do you realise how absurd this stance is?

Yes, there can be an element of luck in selection or on the field, but it seems the bad luck we suffer in terms on injuries etc just doesn’t count?

He’s won promotion 4 times before.  If we go up this year it won’t be down to luck.

Is anyone saying we are lucky today? Really? Or are you trying to be antagonistic? He gets pelters when he deserves them. But even his fiercest critics, and believe me I'm not fan would say he's not lucky at all today for the win. Every manager needs a bit and we got a little bit early on, and were brilliant after that. So for the most part Bruce and his team got the result because it was encouraged and we were tactically sound.
Have you read the posts above mine?  One uses the actual word and Rob heavily infers it with his comments about selection

He has been lucky in his team selections. He stated it clearly at the weekend about Elphick who has been brilliant now in both wins. He was lucky having to play Davis because Gabby was injured. So there's nothing wrong with that. You mentioned when he wins he's lucky. That's not what anyone has suggested.
That’s exactly what you’re suggesting.  He stumbled across the team and got lucky.  But when he lost Grealish, Jedi, Green, Kodjia etc and he wasn’t unlucky, just shit.

It's not at all the same thing. All managers get lucky at times. We as a team got lucky today when Bristol City should have made it 2-1 but instead they fucked it up on the line. But it's not to suggest today's win was lucky or Bruce was lucky. Neither is that he's always shit when we lose, because there have been games we've played well and lost. Today it wasn't exclusively luck. So your statement is inaccurate.

I don't think he is, what people are suggesting is that his original 'plan' is the performances we've see in the last few months, where we grind and graft and hope to sneak it.  People are suggesting it because he's always played that way and it's how he set us up when he had almost a full squad to choose from.  He did get lucky with Davis which meant his way of playing proved effective for a while and on Saturday the Onomah injury was a massive slice of luck because, in my opinion, Grelaish has been exceptional in the last 2 wins and him driving forward with the ball has been at the heart of why things are working.

The posts above mine inferred he has been lucky.  I made the point it’s absurd to call someone lucky when we win yet ignore all the bad luck he’s had etc in the past when calling him shit.  You jumped down my throat but it seems a valid point to me.

correct. Every manager has that at times. Just like he's been unlucky with key injuries to Terry and Kodja. But doesn't make the statement absolute of him being a lucky manager when we win or ahit one when we lose. That many want him gone is because invariably Bruce in his extreme conservatism reverts to form. We won 4-0 at Burton then score 13 in the next 12. Today was brilliant, but let's wait and see what happens over the next few games.

You made a statement that people are only calling him lucky when we win and shit when we lose. People are pointing out that's not what is being said or inferred. That's all.

Anyway, I'm bored with this. I'm going to enjoy the win tonight. So should you :)

Regardless of the scoreline, we play like that most weeks and they'd never be a problem.

Tonight was fantastic for much of the game. We played with tempo, pace, power and a a little bit of skill when Grealish was on.

All against a very decent if tired team.

Hopefully we'll see more of this second half of the season.

Probably why Johnstone may leave, doesn't want to be an understudy to Whelan.

They played into our hands by being brave and allowing us space to counter. Most teams will set up with 10 behind the ball and that's when we labour. It's been a problem for over a decade.

Great result let’s enjoy it. Inevitable perhaps, given the split on Bruce, but I do find it depressing when posters are already giving it the needle to others on the match thread when we’re about to win a game 5-0.

They did and I suspected we would beat them as they would be out of gas but not by the number or the manner is which we did.

Happy times.
