I’ve been impressed with Rosenior. OK he is paid to know about the Championship, but it’s such a refreshing change to hear considered analysis rather than the usual nonsense. Tired of crap pundits saying, yes the football was crap, yes the squad is unbalanced and the results have been rubbish, but there’s stil nobody better than Mr 4 Promotions to get us up. Fuck off the lot of you.

I agree with all of that. The other day, Jim White kept saying that whoever we appoint won’t be a promotion expert like Bruce.

Bruce is such a promotion expert that of his 700+ days in charge, we’ve spent 6 days in the top 2.

The thing about being a promotion expert is that you have either got relegated recently before or you have been appointed by a Div. 2 club.  Either way, not a ringing endorsement of a good manager.

Interesting to see Steve Bruce hosting a debate about Steve Bruce.

Sidwell blaming the owners for not defining the style of play they want. WTF? Bellamy sees it, still backs Bruce but he sees the potential. He knows it's an easy club to get right.
Ok Steve,we want a progressive modern attacking style.

" Don't we all want that. But the reality is,this is the Championship . You don't get points for style, like at some dancing competition. You have to scrap and battle for every point.

Well Steve, what about trying a pressing game like Klopp ?

."That would be nice. But ,to be honest,I haven't got the squad.I've just lost 6 players. It's the Championship,it's a long hard slog. And last year,I brought in £20 million in transfers and had to beg, steal and borrow to bring in players and we were one goal short at the end.We were that close."

What sort of playing style will you implement ,Steve ?

" As I said,it's the Championship .It's 46 games and every game the players have to put their boots on.Trust me,I know what I'm doing.I 've won 4 promotions out of this league."

I watched ELF review on quest this week , both pundits said Bruce had to go as it looked like he hadnt got a clue with the best squad in the league .

It's sad how many ex-Villa heroes are among the nonsense-spouting ex-pro gobshite brigade.  Merson coming out with every false cliche about "no-one better than Bruce" and "knowing the championship".  And yet Merse has always been noted for his critical reasoning and analytical insights.  Then Peter Withe saying the results let Bruce down but some people weren't seeing the bigger picture of what Bruce had achieved.  The bigger picture that everyone else can see shows Bruce massively under achieved.  To cap it all Withe then offers his services free of charge as our next manager because he has so much confidence in his ability to take us forward.  Based on what? Apart from coaching Thailand.  Badly. But at least he has more experience than Yorke he seems to expect he can be parachuted into a top job based on his connections and despite being out of the game for a decade.  And then Shearer and the idiot interviewer talking about a knee-jerk reaction.  After 102 games of dire football and failure, and barely troubling the top two.   It defies belief how much monumental shit can come out of people's mouths.

Well firstly kudos to Steve Sid for recognising just how big a club Villa are, really and truthfully Aston Villa are up there with the Spurs and Newcastle's of this world, we just can't show it in the league and haven't done so since MON.

Blaming everything on the summer events is just wrong, they clearly have forgotten Villa had a cracking start to the season, Bruce with the best squad in in the league let this go to the position we are in now, he had to go, if Steve Bruce is such a good craftsman in the skills of getting a team promoted, then the play off final would have been second nature to him, we would be playing the Man City's of this world by now, fact is he blew it, Fulham got it right and went about the job in a much more direct way, Bruce was out of is depth

Merson,Withe and Shearer,a great trio of English football managers .
I remember watching Champions League on Sky many years back and the 3 pundits were Gullitt,Souness and Platt.Great players but absolute bellends as managers.
Ex England international players don't seem to be able to make the transition into management,Lampard the only one in the top 2 tiers and Southgate.
Compare that to their Dutch and Italian counterparts.
Unfortunately, they get gigs as pundits.Such insight from Wright,Keown,Merson and Hendrie etc.

The body language is appalling. Jack looks like a petulant 12 yr old, flapping his arms at anything that isn't going right and every time he's touched. He never used to be like this.

Fucking Bruce sympathisers in the press defending the wanker. He has left us with the most unbalanced squad I have witnessed. No fucking defenders and utter piss poor keepers. Don't tell me that the Portugese kid is no better than Nyland.

New manager needs to be able to use the free agent market and get Huth and Collins in to give us some defensive depth. I would happily take Collins and Russel Martin if Huth is not fit. We need 2 back there desperately to help Chester and give us a tiny bit of solidity.

Keeper wise, Sarkic is better than Nyland. Young he may be, but something has to give there. Alternatively looking at the frees, Cavelieri that Palace had for a few months last season is on a free. We have to find something different, Nyland and Bunn are bobbins and both need to go.

Bruce is an utter fucking numpty. Any chairman ever looking to appoint him should look at our squad today, and realise hes not got a fucking clue.

The more I think about it, the more I think the lack of recognised central defenders was an act of sabotage by bruce. It's just breathtakingly negligent.

He should have gone the moment the whistle went at Wembley for the play off final.

I honestly think that Bruce was trying to force the owners into bringing JT back, but they wouldn't, quite rightly, part with the 65k a week for a 38 year old.
