He said in the week that he doesn't read social media.  Now it's the hardest part of the job.  He can't remember his lies from moment to the next.

Just getting ready for his next excuses!

Mat Kendrick suggested that he gets reports about what's online

I think there's plenty to criticise Bruce about at the moment without focusing on this angle, or why he subbed an injured Abraham, or whether he looks like a root vegetable

Matt Kendrick is one of those journos who allows Bruce to spill out utter bullshit in press conferences and doesn't have the guts to pull him up over it.

Defending the indefensible is the way media hacks peddle their miserable trade.

I have to take issue with you there, Matt.

Potatoes are stem vegetables.

Point of order gentlemen. I think you will find potatoes are stem tubers. They are particularly noted in the horticultural world for their high starch content and total lack of any understanding of modern football management.

Genuine question. If Bruce and co get the boot and a big pay off will that count against us in terms of ffp?
Yes.  I think that and potential compensation for a new manager are potentially real problems.

Actually potatoes are rhizomes (surface growing tubers).  That is why you have to ridge them up to make them into underground tubers.  Otherwise they become green and make you sick.  Which brings us back neatly to Steve Bruce.

Potatoes are yet-to-be chips of which our Steve is about to have.

In fairness the video / podcast analysis he did a few weeks ago was very thorough and balanced.  It was a detailed review of his entire tenure and he was highly critical of Bruce and called for him to be assessed (sacked) after 11 games - ie same as RDM,  Whilst I would have pulled the trigger somewhat sooner it was difficult to argue with anything he said.

But yes, he could be more searching in press conferences.

Yes.  I think that and potential compensation for a new manager are potentially real problems.

You're talking a year's wages for Bruce plus his team, say a maximum of £3m. For the kind of manager we're realistically likely to take on - either out-of-work or at a smaller club, they aren't going to have a massive compensation fee attached.

If we're in the hole still to the tune talked about in the summer, £4-5m isn't going to make the difference between us being screwed as regards FFP or not. Spending another season in this league is.

I still think he should be sacked, I was just answering a question.

Shame Pat Murphy no longer works on football. Suggest he'd have been questioning Bruce in the way he did Pearson.

Thanks guys. So on balance it's time for the owners to make the dinosaur extinct in B6.
