" did well to stay up in the first season " what an absolute chancer, trying to make out he's some kind of victim.

We know his statements are BS, he probably does as well, wish the press would ask some proper questions

During his first season we were within touching distance of the play offs over Xmas. Bruce repeatedly talked about what we needed to make the play offs (average of 2 points per game etc).

He made it quite clear that the play offs were the target yet he’s now making out that he did well to avoid relegation!

Does he think we’re fucking stupid or something?

He’s a massive bullshitter and it’s really winding up a lot of fans now.

Bruce is commenting hysterically and like a man in crisis. He's completely delusional. If he comments openly such b-shit, you only have to wander what he's spouting behind the scenes to the players.
The reality is in this division teams need to start well and get close to 22 points after 11 games if they want auto promotion. Catch-up after a poor start is very difficult as we found out last season, as did Fulham despite a 20+ game unbeaten run. We need 12 points (4 wins) from the next four games, otherwise like last season Bruce will have f-cked up our auto promotion chances again. I can't see Bruce getting these wins. He knows it too! I wanted Bruce out a long time ago, but having started the season, he should have gone after the sheff utd defeat. We've probably left it too late.

We spent £25 odd million in his first window when we were 9th and did well to stay up?
We had premier league players on £50/60k per week last season, when the division average is something like £7k and we did well to finish 4th?

The bloke has full on entered the delusion stage, someone put him out of his misery.

The powers that be might have already assessed his ineptitude but perhaps trying to find the right replacement is more difficult than we know.

When you read utter bollocks and bullshit like that he's certainly treating us with contempt.

You have to hope that that is the reason for his continued employment rather than any belief in his capabilities.

I'm trying to work out what point you are trying to make here Paul, other than reminding everyone how right you were all along?  Mike seems to be suggesting we should make a change, even at the risk of staying down, if that helps us build a better team for the long term.  Isn't that essentially what you are advocating?

The point I'm making is that some people wanted that 2 years ago when it was the right thing to do, but loads of you didn't give a shit how we got there so long as Bruce got us up.  Now he's failed twice and most people have realised that it's the right thing to do but it might well be a bit late for it now.  This is the last season of parachute payments, and possibly the last season where we could grab the best young players we could find and build things slowly around them.  Under Lerner we had 3-4 seasons where we had a chance to take a leap forward but we gave them all to MON wasted the last 2 of them. Under Xia we had 2 years where we had loads of benefits and should've been pushing for a immediate return but we wasted those opportunities on Bruce. I agree that we need to get away from that and find a way to take advantage of the latest round of wealthy owners and the idea of sticking with Bruce for any longer than necessary frustrates the shit out of me.

I get the argument for patience, I made similar when Henry was being linked, but it's getting close to the point where I'd rather we went with a caretaker for a month than stick with him just because the replacement we want isn't available.  We're misusing our attacking players so badly right now that I just can't see anyone making it significantly worse.

Indeed, but thankfully he's not an option.
