I thought the club should give Bruce till Christmas, looking at results in November if not in top 3 then get New manager in then.
Worried the mention of Terry Henry as he has no practical experience
Similar to Sherwood.  Would have preferred someone like Bilich if the new owners could persuade him

When we were fucked I wanted him to stay now we’re potentially not fucked I want him gone again. Says it all really.

This reeks of a fanboy appointment.  Like many others, I hope for the best but in truth, I'm fearing the worst.

Replace Bruce now would be total madness , 2 weeks before the season and apparently by a  person with no managerial pedigree and no direct knowledge at this level.

I'd like to know who exactly is advising the owners on this?

Appointing a name like Henry is glamorous and exciting but it just feels like a huge and unnecessary gamble.  It has the feeling of an ego appointment, just like Zola was for the Blues.  If we can afford to replace Bruce that's great, but I'd be a lot more comfortable if I felt we had been through a measured and thought out process to get the right candidate, not stumbling around splashing money on big names because we can.

Henry sounds far more attractive than, say, Dean Smith, but I think Smith would be the better fit for us right now.

With that said, if he does come I'll be excited to see what he brings.

We really can't afford someone to be using us to serve his apprenticeship.

Let him work his way up from non-league or the French lower divisions.

Ferguson's first job was East Stirlingshire, Wenger started out at an assistant manager to a Ligue Deux team, Ron Saunders', managerial career began at Yeovil. They all earned jobs at bigger clubs by virtue of their achievements.

We are far too big to be a testing ground for people who want to try their hand at management. We aren't Fleetwood or some such nonsense club.

Agree Bilic would be an excellent choice, Henry is a massive gamble, if he is appointed let's hope he turns out to be as good a manager as he was a player, then we would all be happy.

Apologies if someone’s said this already as I haven’t had time to check the thread but I would only feel comfortable with this from a logical perspective if he had a knowledgeable Director of Football to support and advise him. Step forward Mr Arsene Wenger..
Won’t happen of course and on an emotional level it makes me feel sick just thinking about it - JT was bad enough but importing ‘the Arse’ .. ugh ...

Everyone on Twitter is attention seeking to some degree, it's why they are on Twitter.

I’m on it to promote local music and moan about Brexit.

So you want the attention of people reading your posts. It may not be the 'oooh look at me' type of attention seeking, but the whole point of Twitter is to get the attention of random strangers.

Facebook is to interact with friends, a site like this one is to interact with people with one main shared interest, instagram/twitter etc are for attention seeking with strangers. And Tumblr is for porn. Allegedly.

Do you mind if I tweet that as well?

Let's not be naive . Henry would come with a coaching team (some experience there surely)plus just because he hasn't managed doesn't mean he can't succeed. He's coached and with right support and set up can be a wonderful move.

I adovacted lampard and think derby have a decent move there .

This Henry move is comparable too in many respects so it's as good as it is bad.

Gerrard is at rangers these managers have to start somewhere !

Look at Zidane he turned out really well.

For me villa would be having a wonderfully gifted  footballer succesful world cup winner as the manager has that ever happened .

He was managed under Frank Rijkaard ,  Pep Guardiola as well as Arsene Wenger.

Henry could bring fresh and modern way and somone who is far more up to date with styles of play and football today .

For anyone has seen his role on sky sports and his interviews he talks very well on football. Tactically savvy and picks out many things people may not have been aware of with analysis.

I think he's being judged by his status in the game as a player:

Some suggesting he can't be success as he was as a player and owners and others saying he be good as he was a amazing player.

Bilic would be a welcome back up come the end of September.

You're examples are from 500 years ago

Managerial appointments are different these days . There are coaches included under the manager label too.

I think have to give him a chance and support any move made

It's a business now as much as football .

Henry would bring a lot of benefits and I would hardly think he's totally clueless .

It's all just paper talk. I would be amazed if this actually happened.
