Having started well, we let the game slip but fortunately we got one back just before the break.  I would have thought Bruce would have seen enough in the last 20 minutes of the half to realise that he had to make a change at the break so that we would take the initiative at the start of the 2nd half.  As it was, more of the same which turned even worse before he made a change.

Was at the game and posted at half time that although we were 2-1 down, we had looked OK and at least had some shape.  Cue usual second half collapse where yet another team of jobbing second tier players are made to look like a Champions League outfit.  The back four and the goalkeeper looked jittery and we offered next to nothing going forward.  We're back at the point where we don't look capable of winning football matches again.

My brother called me to ask what the f*ck was going on (he lives in London and couldn't get here tonight), and at that precise moment, Bacuna played a pass to Hourihane (I think), who was stood off the pitch. I didn't need to say any more.
Did it reach the target?

Gone to shit since calderwood came in as assistant! Coincidence? Probably, but just a thought

Said this earlier.

Results since Bruce came in, until Calderwood started was DWWDWD.

Results since Calderwood became assistant was WLWLWWDLLLDLLLL.

You can't exactly pinpoint it on Calderwood, but he could be part of problem coupled with 'gate gate', AFCON, mid season squad change..

I have supported Villa for 45 years and this is the worst I have ever seen. There is no confidence and no cohesion because there are no leaders and no leadership. But these players are certainly good enough at least for this league. A bit of patience is required.

Panic got the club into the current mess. Sacking managers constantly will just deepen the mire.

Maybe it's something to do with that awful song that the players come out to... sounds like something you would hear at a circus and the players then proceed to act like clowns for 90 minutes.

I stuck it out as usual to the bitter end, but that is probably the nadir of my time as a Villa supporter.

No cohesion, no link up play of any note, a woeful lack of drive and seemingly effort.

Amavi's shocking performances are just not shocking any more, but nobody came out with credit.

If the players we have recently signed were the best at their former clubs, what on earth are we doing to them or in training?!

Scott Hogan must have something about him to have scored 14 goals this season,  but he already resembles a poorer version of Gary Penrice.

Not the best result, but hoping for a good showing at Newcastle in our next fixture

Just watched the goals. That muppet has to be the worst keeper we've ever had.

You do wonder whether part of the problem is that the defence have no confidence in him.
The defence would rather belt the ball away rather than let him have it.

Ok so Gollini last played against Norwich which from Bruce starting was:

DWWDWDWLWL

Then Bunn started next four:

WWDL

Then Johnstone since:

LLDLLLL

Speaks for itself really.

Can't see it Des.  Watching that tonight, I honestly can't see us winning a game at the moment.

Surely part of the problem? Bruce helped make us more solid at the back when he arrived now we're as bad as ever. Drop him and let Man Utd develop their own players FFS. I'm not a fan
Of Bunn but he's got to be better.
