Thanks for helping us up and thanks again for keeping us there, especially with that run of late assists in 2020.

Sounds and looks like a great professional. Credit to Bruce for bringing him in.

He came in during Bruce's first transfer window when he tried to buy up what he thought were the Championship's best players: Conor, Lansbury, Hogan, Bree, Johnstone and Bjarnson. Despite the excitement at the time only Conor was a success.

Bjarnason came from Basel, agree about the rest though. I think at the time Bruce just went for the top scorer and top assist maker in Hogan and Hourihane, without any thought as to if they all could play together. Hogan was an absolutely unmitigated disaster, one of the worst player I've ever seen. What did we pay for him and Fat Ross combined, £25m? Jesus Christ.

Conor wasnt a bad signing really, neither was Johnstone. He did buy some decent players as well. It was only Hogan he wasted stupid money on.

Damning Conor with faint praise there, he was a tremendous signing. At £2.5m like McGinn, an absolute bargain.

That's a fair summary. He also brought in Terry who worked out well. The main issue with Bruce was the football and the absolute shitshow of a defence he left us with at the start of the season we went up.

Yes, i think he'd given up at that point and it showed with how much thought he put into that window.

And his squad building. The problem with just signing players that look good and then making a team out of them is that sometimes you end up with 1 lb, 2cb and 4tb as your defense.

Bruce was hit-and-miss in the market but at least he seemed to recruit on character generally which did us some good.
