One of the best dead ball specialists I’ve seen at VP and scored some memorable and vital goals for us. The goal v Albion at the Holte End will live long in the memory.

I can only think of Solano who was as good at those free kicks around the area.

Bruce Rioch was a bit special at them.

Good luck Conor. I’d fancy Swansea for promotion now.

Sad to see him go and surprised another Prem club didn't come after him, but maybe Swansea are a better bet anyway - in a few months he could well be back to being a Premier League player with a team on the way up rather than on the way down.  From what I've seen of Swansea they should be a good match for him too - as above, I might stick a fiver on them for promotion now.

Swansea means he does not have to uplift his family just yet.
I for one wish him well and will now be making sure i check on Swansea's results.

I also think it is a good sign that someone is now almost guaranteed to come in - things do look great for us

Good luck to Conor, he scored/set up some very important goals for us over the last 5 years, not least the equaliser in the play off semi again Albion.

He's only 29 and not deteriorating as a player - it's us who is upgrading to better players, which is exciting.

His contribution at the end of last season shouldn't be underestimated either.

Always nice to see a player depart with good wishes from the fans and he's definitely on the illustrious list of proud Irish Villains.

Excellent servant to the team and played a massive role for us.  Best wishes Conor and hope to see you back at VP sometime for a proper send off.

Good luck Conor. Can't see him playing for Villa again, so thanks for everything. His improvement last year after the restart was really, really noticeable.

This.

I'll be interested to see where Swansea play Conor. For me he was never a defensive midfielder, far better supporting the strikers. Unfortunately for him we're well stocked in that department.

It's good luck from me too. He's been consistent in attitude since coming here, and wants to keep playing not just sitting back. Good on him.

Played a big, big part in our resurgence and I'm grateful for what he's done for Villa.

Genuinely one of my favourite Villa players.

Worked his socks off, had a left foot to die for, scored some absolute belters (in important games too) and just seemed to get the club.

I hope we see him back at VP next year with someone else.

Though right footed Ashley Young direct free kicks and dead balls when accurate were as good as it gets to me
