I still think it will be about 39k.
Maybe not. The ground is now officially sold out, apart from any tickets Burton have got remaining.

Strangely there's more ticket on sale now than there was this morn & cheaper . Now from £12 lower Holte

Probably because now that it's sold out, more season ticket holders have now decided that it's worth putting them on sale if they can't go.

Whether or not they get sold on seatwave, these are already sold tickets and will be included in the attendance.

Of course, a couple of weeks ago, some people said no way will we get 40k plus for Boxing day against Burton!

No, I pointed out you were incorrect when you said 40K tickets had already been sold. At no stage did I say we wouldn't get 40K. How you still don't get that is beyond me.

You said over 40,000 had been sold on the 10th December. Quite clearly nonsense, and the fact that it has sold out in the two weeks since doesn't alter that.

Somebody has counted them and there is 230 left across the ground. How much you can trust the system remains to be seen, but that would leave us with 39,400 home tickets sold.

They had sold 2200 on the weekend, so you'd think there would be 42,000 odd on the gate, which is staggering.

42,000, for the most ridiculous league fixture in Villa Park's history.
I always thought our home match against Northampton Town in the old first division in the 65 - 66 season was the most ridiculous league fixture played at VP, but I think this one tops that. There was only just over 10k at that match, one of the lowest attendances in our history and we lost 2 - 1. A chap called Willie Hamilton scored for us, the older ones will remember him.

I don't understand the view that it's a ridiculous fixture, they are in our league.

Nor me , 12 months time we could be(highly unlikely but not impossible )playing each other in the premier.
Some seem to think we're better than that or that they're beneath us .

Snobbery ? Tin hat on!.

Rather more worryingly, we're in theirs. And their half of it, too.

Most of our history suggests we are above playing no mark outfits like these none league merchants from a town full of Villa and Derby fans.

Here were are, for the immediate thanks to Dandy old Randy, playing a side whose ground you could fit in the upper Holte, in front of a full house. Ridiculous.

And I support Aston Villa. Too fucking right I'm a snob.

We are the masters in our castle.  They are the servants at the gate. They are lucky we agree to play them at all.

They deserve to be in the Championship, and so do we. Hopefully we'll be back where we belong sooner rather than later.
