To be fair, I've bought all my tickets off Seatwave this season, even when you add the extra charges, its still cheaper than direct from the club

That's not the point. When you buy something costing £12 you should expect to pay £12, not £22.

But you're not just buying something for £12, you're buying something for £12 and a service. A service that includes somebody manning the help desk! It's a business not a charity!

And there in a nutshell is why companies get away with these scams. They take a cut of the buying price, add a booking fee, now another six quid 'handling'. If I buy £12 of groceries from Tesco I expect to pay £12, not hand over another ten for the service of being sold them.

That's not a great analogy. With your shopping with Tesco, you are still paying for 'handling', it's just hidden in the cost of the product.

It's an absolutely perfect analogy. Both companies are selling a commodity, yet you believe that Seatwave are selling something extra, namely this spurious 'service' and are therefore entitled to add a swingeing extra cost.

Actually, the better analogy would have been buying Tesco shopping online for delivery - at which point you would have been paying a service fee.

I agree it stinks, but it is what it is and nobody should be surprised by it in this day and age.

I've been doing Asdas £1 delivery fee, cheaper than actually driving there and coming back, plus you don't buy any extra crap you didn't need or want...... Get in!

Still can't see what the fuss is over, on my last game against Fulham, I bought a ticket from Seatwave for £25.00 in Trinity Road B2 block for £25.00. The cost direct from Villa was £33.00, so I know where I will keep buying my tickets from.

The 'fuss' is because what was 99p a month ago is £5.99 now.

Not only a ridiculous increase but someone has to be in to sign for the ticket now which is almost impossible if you work so means a trip out to the sorting office to collect.

Suffice to say I have just bought my Cardiff ticket from the club.

Here's what I don't understand. Verified tickets - posted out, have to be signed for, £5.99 charge. Unverified tickets - to be collected, 99p charge. What's the difference?

Don't forget that the seller also pays 10% of selling price to Seatwave

Well, well. It appears that the £5.99 charge has been scrapped and it's now just 99p again.

They also say that anyone who has paid the higher fee can ask for a refund.
