Heard on the way back today (OK - it was on WM) that Bruce is looking to bring 5 players in in January. Hope one of them is an experienced goalie - I'm totally unconvinced by Gollini

5 would be lovely - a keeper to provide genuine competition, loan right back, first team centre half, a Jedinak clone & a proper target man who has some mobility & can control a ball properly would be good.

He was really poor when he came today.

He was shite against Leeds where he did the impression of a lamp post but with less movement, time to move him on. We need left winger to balance out Adomah, we need a right full back in the Amavvi mode, that would strengthen both sides. We need a Taylor/Bremner/Carradous type player, someone who will tirelessly run up and down the pitch all game and we need a centre mid who will continually drive forward with the ball. Who they are I have no idea but Bruce has picked up gems before in the transfer market. In the window, ship out Gestede, Richards, Gabby and unfortunately Ayew.

I think it will be Allan McGregor, 3rd choice for Hull atm but was a regular for them under Bruce and a good keeper.

Why would Veretout come back? He's starting every game in France so I doubt he'd be too willing to come back to a country where he struggles with the language and had such a bad time last year.

This isn't like Cissokho where he was barely playing at Porto and with the Amavi injury it made sense to recall him.

Sat there today I actually thought Joey Barton alongside Jedinak would make a good combination...at first I felt sick thinking it but I couldn't shake that it would work.

Jenkinson would be an upgrade on Hutton who does neither defending or attacking well.

Johnstone I've never seen play but I trust Bruce & Gary Walsh will know all about him & his abilities

He looked pretty decent at West Ham last year didn't he? Or did everyone in the league just look decent compared to what we were watching?

Yeah he was outstanding for West Ham, got a bad injury though and has been very poor since for Arsenal. Regular games at a lower level would surely build his confidence back up again. Sam Byram doesn't seem to be getting a look in for West Ham at the moment, another RB option.

Don't understand going for another kid goalkeeper but appears it's a done deal.

Brad Guzan maybe?

Maybe the management team know who they want
