£37 for a televised Championship game (although we charge £35 aswell). Modern football is toss.

And we'll still sell out. Prices aren't going to fall if people keep paying them.

So maybe the answer is to apply a cap on away ticket prices of £30. Football has truly gone mental when fans are expected to stump up more money to watch their team play Leeds (and QPR, I'll bet) in 2nd division than to see them play at Stanford Bridge or Old Trafford in the Premier League

What's in it for the club though?  Like it or not, football is a business these days - if a club can sell 3,000 tickets at £37 or 3,000 at £30 why would they choose the latter?

The only way prices will come down is if people stop going.  Given average attendances across the entire country are pretty much the highest they've ever been it's unlikely to happen soon.  And as Holte L2 says, it's not just football, every other form of entertainment will charge as much as they think they can get away with.
But the greedy bastards in the premier league have to cap their away ticket prices so I don't see why the Championship can't do something  similar.

TV deal.  Gate receipts are fast becoming an irrelevance in the Prem - fans in the stands are just there to make sure the stands don't look empty on TV.  The further down the pyramid you go the more important gate receipts are to whether a club makes money or not.  If people are willing to pay it the clubs will carry on charging it (and keep increasing it).

Can't go to this and in the away scheme. Face value £37 and will post out first class signed for at no cost to whoever wants it as soon as I receive it.

Why is it? That's all the away section holds and theyre expecting to pretty much sell out the rest of the ground too, having opened to upper East Stand for the second time this season. Newcastle on Sunday week is already a 37,000 sell out and Newcastle got the same number as us.

Sold out an hour before I was eligible to apply.

It's been a fucking nightmare trying to get tickets this season.

If anyone has three spares... please PM me!

Or two and I can beg for the other one separately!
