I thought, with the signings of McMahon and Rideout we'd be able to continue at or near the top. After this game I buggered off to the States and it had all fallen apart by the time we came back.As an aside, what an initial pass from Gibson for the first - a lovely through ball with check that enabled Six to reach it, great cross...then foregone conclusion!

I was there, and I was also there in December 89 when we beat them 3-0

What a day that was.

What a day that was. I was at the Man U and Arsenal games but flew back to Paris early evening on NYD so missed Chelsea. I found out our score from somebody at Heathrow. IIRC it was also the day Denis Bailey (?) scored a hat trick for QPR at Old Trafford.
Nearly relegated, relegated, promoted, nearly relegated, nearly champions, nearly relegated, 7th, nearly champions, 10th, nearly relegated, 4th. We weren't known for our consistency back then!
Bailey was NY Day 1992 according to Google.
