De Kuip I guess it's the accumulation of defeats. We haven't won away for 14 months, I guess it's hard to keep positive and supportive when you never win. Not even every now and again.

De Kuip, I think it's about expectations. Last season we were quickly battered down and I think iknew from Spurs away that we were doomed.

A lot of people will have felt that this season offered the chance to see more wins and have more fun against inferior opposition - a season to consolidate and regroup. That hasn't happened and tolerance is falling rapidly.

I said in the summer that all the talk of new grounds to visit and the joy of winning would quickly fade if we don't do well. An air of bitterness followed by apathy could easily ensue.

Support dropped at the 3 I've been at with realisation that the team were not going to rouse themselves to win. Unsurprising,  really.

We've taken more away from home than anybody else in the country so far.

Leeds would have taken more....

I thought we were really quiet at Barnsley but then it's down to the players giving us nothing to shout about.

Somebody on twitter mentioned that our two biggest allocations are yet to come. Anyone know where they are?

Think it's a Geordie talking about Newcastle away games rather than Villa .

Oh, my bad. Thanks for replying anyway all. Still, Blackburn to come for us.

Just received Email from the club thanking me/us for our superb support away from home this season.
It does make impressive reading:

Wednesday   93miles    4465
Derby            41 miles   3061
Bristol City   96 miles    2551
IpswichTown151 miles 1882
Barnsley       101 miles 3670
Preston        109 miles 5650

Hopefully lot more to come...imagine if we win a few!!!

Yes it was nice of the club to send that email.

Our support has been bang on and loyal despite the dross we are being served up. Going Reading and looking to go Brighton and Leeds. Blood of the club those that sacrifice themselves for Villa. It's a family.

I'll be at those as well but I don't consider it a sacrifice. I enjoy watching football, days out and a drink - so really I'm being selfish rather than dying for the cause!

I'm not sure quite how I'll react when I witness our next away win. It probably won't register until the third pint.

It's an online joke. Leeds fans are obsessed with how many they take away, so it's something of a meme to say Leeds would have taken more. Even when the discussion is Leeds away support.

It's weird how bad our away form has become. We were brilliant on the road under MON regularly posting 9-10 wins in a season and even under Lambert we had good away form in his first two seasons.

You take these things for granted don't you until it all comes crashing down.

Under MO'N we had the perfect counter attacking team.

Maybe season tickets holders as well because I had one, unless they sent it out to people with away history.
